For anyone who is experiencing this issue on their Galaxy S3, what is the model number of your device? You can find this information under Settings -> About device.

I have this issue too on my S3. The model is GT-I9300 and runs Android 4.3.

Edited by Inirit: 10/30/2014 6:10:48 PMUnfortunately, it appears that this specific model of the Galaxy S3 suffers from the same issues as the Galaxy Note 2, the extension we require for 3D rendering is not supported by the device. The 2D black silhouette is the expected fallback in this scenario. Some additional info: The source of conflicting reports about 3D characters on the Galaxy S3 comes from how many model variants there are, as shown on the [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_III#Model_variants]wikipedia page[/url]. Some of these models support the extension, some of them don't, and to a typical user this is not immediately clear.

Thanks for the info. Are there any plan to add additionnal 3d rendering options compatible with more devices (including galaxy s3 gt i9300 and note 2, some of the most sold android phones of the last two years I guess)?

it is slightly annoying to have one model of phone to be like this, surely there will be a way around it like maybe a 2d model instead of 3d. for the specific model.
