**UPDATE**"THEORY" 6th and 7th chest discussion.

We are attempting to figure out how to make the 6th and 7th chest spawn so far we have tried clearing the entrance without a pretorian entering a sync plate but nothing happened we will be retrying on hard mode tonight to confirm. (5th chest confirmed can get in normal or hard mode by preventing the templar from teleporting) 7th chest has speculation on how to get it whether it is clear the gorgon maze without being seen on hard mode or speed runs etc. We will be attempting all of these tonight on hard mode to test these theories. Any ideas and theories from players would be helpful we want to find these and show everyone else how to as well.     • Hey guys I just noticed something in the Templar part, if you stand on certain parts of the floor you hear noises, I found about 5 of these spots there's maybe more though. Maybe if one person stand on each of those spots something opens? You probably need turtle beaches to hear it.

      • Have you tried anything with the portal at the maze room? I've been to the portal really easy to get to, but it's never open.i don't have a team willing to put in the kind of time I want to to test your theories to the portal.

        Something interesting in the grimoire I found. My card for aetheon says I killed him once. I've finished the raid 6 times. Templar says twice. Gorgon says 0 even though I've killed 2 with our team. Does it only count if you get the last shot? Or is this a clue.

        • One thing that I keep think while reading alot of the theories in here is, why are there so many theories that involve only one person being able to do some to make a chest spawn or that only one person can reach it? Would have to figure bungie wouldn't put chests in that only one person (or one class) could get and not the whole raid. Might be better to focus on ways that involve all 6 people in the raid.

          Quick thought: Strangers rifle: made of parts that shouldn't exist yet. So it's from the future. Anyone ever bring their strangers rifle through the vault? Maybe through the portals? I'm guessing not because it's level 16, but would be interesting to see if it's got a hidden buff. I'm in left field with a football bat, but Pm me if you notice anything with it. I'm gonna try too.

          • Has anyone tried shooting the Gorgon that patrols while INSIDE the maze-right chest room? I wonder what happens once the door closes if you're inside? I imagine the team wipes. What if you kill the Gorgon from inside the room. The door would be closing so you'd have to do it quick...Just thoughts.

            • Assuming the theory that the trigger for a chest in the first secret passage is in the gate opening encounter, has anyone ever thought that maybe its not about doing it flawlessly? I mean raising the gate without losing a plate may be similar to doing the templar without getting marked by oracles, one measure of flawless in that fight. If that is the case then perhaps we need to consider the praetorians to be the teleporting portion of the encounter, and perhaps killing them and having them respawn is similar to a teleport. Perhaps we have to raise the spire without killing a praetorian. Kiting them is a mixed in strat to make the fight easier, just like people sometimes blocked teleports when they saw it as advantageous in templar fight. Blocking all templar ports is an overwhelming task, much like kiting the first praetorians the whole time would be.

              • How about firing 2 weapons at the same point or causing them to collide? There are a few weapons that have strange descriptions about them.. I'm glad I'm only level 11. It will get figured out by the time I am joining in on the VOG :)

              • I was doing some experimenting last night and when the oracles first show up to "show their spawn points" you can kill them. You need a Hunter with golden gun. If you can get at least 3 hunters with full supers you could take them out. Maybe if you destroy them all before the start of the actual Oracle phase, maybe you don't have to go through all the waves and maybe you get something from that. Just an idea. I got 4 of them down but you have to memorize the pattern.

                  think outside the box. in the video i show you how to glitch outside the map during patrol in the raid area. You can see any architecture, nothing is hide. So since a few days i try to reach the gorgon maze from outside the map to look for secret caves/paths. If you cant see it from inside the map, you will definitively see, if there is sth. from outside the map. feel free to help me and share your experiences!

                      • Not sure if this has been disgusted before...but there are several of these red lights outside of VoG. There is one circular one right behind the spawn - I havent come across another one with the same shape. It seems to be unique. Worthy of consideration.

                        • It's probably nothing, but you can get above the templar door that opens when you defeat him. By doing some slight pillar jumping you can get to a ledge that takes you back and over. In this area there are some weird holes in the ground that drop down to platforms that take you below the templar level. This space isn't that expansive, but because of how you access it kinda makes it feel like it's worth checking out.

                            • Apologies if this has been mentioned already in this monsterous post but, has anyone explored the old route to the gorgon maze BEFORE the spirit bloom route was discovered? Previously, everyone just jumped down. Since the discovery of alternate routes and such, I took the huge drop route and noticed multiple platforms and lights and such. Didn't really explore cuz I didn't have much time. Just wanted to throw this idea out in case it wasn't mentioned before.

                            • 2 cents: Weapon descriptions seem to be clues: Atheon's Epilogue: Atheon's story still being written. Wielder holds the pen. And VM: ..firing process somehow binds time and space into... Praetorian Foil: erase the future. Corrective Measure: breaks the rules of reality... I'm wondering if the weapons are indeed "keys" to be held during certain events that collectively cause a new raid event or chest to activate. Lastly, can anyone confirm that holding the entrance open and continuing to kill enemies yields only more praetorians? In have a feeling that the silver minotaurs that spawn after gate keeper checkpoint are important, and there may have been more at the beginning. Problem is my team always cooks right into the vault the moment it opens... Any confirmations on this? And possibly killing Atheon too fast may be an issue if green (past) isn't done to kill the silver praetorian in there too... Just a thought. I love the speculation. It's like putting together Dark Souls lore from the breadcrumbs scattered through out the game.

                            • Has anyone ever noticed how the relics grimoire card has a "kills" statistic? Implying that you can kill the relic. Also if you shoot the relic you get hitmarkers. Not sure what this could mean but just throwing it out there for you guys.

                              • What if it's a combination of using the alternate Templar pathway, AND the alternate jumping puzzle. I can never get all 6 members of the raid to come along with me, but maybe bringing all 6 fireteam members through both paths unlocks something. Maybe you have to make it all the way through to the end of the jumping puzzle, without any wipes, or even any deaths. I think since making the "flawless raider" an achievement, Bungie anticipated people mastering the raid and doing it without any deaths. So why not throw in a chest spawn with the same requirements? Not to mention getting a full team through BOTH alternate pathways without anyone dying is pretty hard. I'm just speculating, but the alternate path to the Templar room and the alternate jumping puzzle must be there for a reason.

                                • Someone was suggesting that the Raid LMG "Corrective Measure" must be equiped to avoid the effects of the Gorgon's gaze. Also, the raid gear LOOKS like vex and is made from the pieces of vex... what about full raid gear making you invisible to gorgons? Like a disguise?
