**UPDATE**"THEORY" 6th and 7th chest discussion.

We are attempting to figure out how to make the 6th and 7th chest spawn so far we have tried clearing the entrance without a pretorian entering a sync plate but nothing happened we will be retrying on hard mode tonight to confirm. (5th chest confirmed can get in normal or hard mode by preventing the templar from teleporting) 7th chest has speculation on how to get it whether it is clear the gorgon maze without being seen on hard mode or speed runs etc. We will be attempting all of these tonight on hard mode to test these theories. Any ideas and theories from players would be helpful we want to find these and show everyone else how to as well. Everyone mocked us and called us liars when we said we said there was a 5th chest and BAM! confirmed! • Now I have 3 theories... 1) You have to somehow survive enrage mode 2) You have to play a song from the oracles. This one is very plausible considering the fact that the last skull in halo 3 required you to jump through 7 rings that play the last 7 notes of the halo theme song. 3) Its something that none of us will find unless bungie tells but it has to do with the number 7

    • This a a post that i have posted on other threads, but these have now been confirmed to work (havent been marked/cleansed sucessfully 3 times with all 6 people - youll see what I mean) but this has to be a BIG part of the puzzle. So a friend of mine and I have some ideas from the riddles Horizon has posted and other theories out there. We have all heard about how people have become immune to the Gorgon Gaze and we believe we have found out why, and we think it may be part of the missing puzzle with the gorgons, whatever that may be. So during the oracles before the Templar, we all know that you can get marked from the fanatics and oracles and cleanse in the well. What some people don’t know is that the well disappears after any certain person has been cleansed 3 times. Not many people know this since we all obviously try to not get marked. The idea we have and have seen is that if you can get each team member to be marked and cleansed 3 times in the light well. On the 3rd time getting cleansed, it will require some team work and careful planning since it despawns. We are hoping that we can be cleansed after becoming marked by oracles and the whole team just sit in the well for the third marking – we have NOT confirmed if this part works, if it does not, you will have to get marked by fanatics and work together on everyone getting cleansed at the same time. The grimoire cards clearly point to bathing in light and that it will cause immunity. If you can manage to get all of this done, and keep everyone alive and get to the Gorgon Maze, you SHOULD be immune to the gaze. It will still show the gaze, but you won’t die. This leads us to our second theory. The gorgons become stronger when you take one out and they become “immune” to that type of damage. Our thought is that their immunity is to all types of damage that was used to kill them, so you have each team member with immunity on and take out 1 gorgon at a time with ONLY a certain type of damage, void, solar, arc…. (3 cleanses equals 3 immunities) and then switch weapons for each new gorgon, it should trigger something once you have taken out 3 maybe all– at least we hope. I have seen several theory posts about a special gorgon showing up or something related to medusa. So maybe these two riddles that Horizon is referring to here, could be part of getting that gorgon to show. Feel free to post up with findings or anything. THESE ARE THEORIES AND NOT CONFIRMED OUTCOMES! Add me on 360 or xb1 to explore. My gt is my user name

Has anyone stood in the circle where the spire forms while the other 5 guard the zones? Not sure if it would do anything or if something spawns on top of it when it's done forming but I think it would be cool none the less just to ride it to the top.

        • So I have read and thought long and hard on the theories that have been going around for the Vault. I personally believe there is more to the VoG and would like to get an expedition crew to go through. Personally I don't think it has to be done on Hard because of the fact that when you are done with the raid on normal it still shows the "Raid armor" and "ascendant materials" though all other missions it goes away after its completed so I don't think the level matters. What I think we would have to do is basically a perfect run. The steps I believe we would have to take are as follows 1. No sync plates taken at all in beginning. 2. Everyone bypass 1st chest and take lower path to Templar in search of "new" chest. 3. No sacrifices to confluxes. 4. No missed oracles and no marks by Fanatics. (supposedly IF you get marked by fanatic and cleanse in pool the gorgons gaze "should not kill" would also like to check this theory) 5. No Templar teleports. Take secondary path to Labyrinth for extra chest. 6. Kill FIRST gorgon and then go through labyrinth with out any detection as fast as possible(the Perseus/ Medusa run) (there is supposed to be a chest that spawns in the crystal cave that is said to have a timer) 7. Kill Gate Keepers get relics. No praetorian sacrifices. 8.(Atheon Fight) this will be most likely the hardest if following the scoreboard theory. We will have to kill Atheon with no Time's vengeance. So no killing oracles in the portals and if still following the Scoreboard theory that means no supplicant kills either. I would really like to try this plan out so I would need a team of Guardians with lots of patience and time (not the gun) preferably anyone that has completed the raid multiple times to know what to do and how to do it. My PSN is Omg1tz3lmo312 (O as in Oh) I am on ps4 . Thanks for reading and looking forward to any feedback.

          • Need a team of 5 others preferably 30 to do the vog and try to get 0 hobgoblin kills at the oracles and 0 fanatic kills at the confluxes. I would also like to test out killing Atheon without using times vengeance. ( running straight out of the teleporter and not killing any Oracles.

              • To the kid that pointed out that when u kill a gorgon they become stronger and immune to the type of damage applied to the gorgon. On hard mode there r 3 sitting gorgons (extra ones in hard mode) that arent in normal mode. And the rewards are more in hard mode not normal. *thinking caps on* if you were to kill the three "sisters" as we shall call them with each elemental damage. Arc, void, solar. And leave with only those 3 dead i wonder if that would trigger something.....

                • Ok I posted earlier about this but I think I need to be more clear on my theory. When fighting atheon we teleport to the past and future, both in the same location. In both time streams, the relic is in the same location. So what if there is a way to get to that location in the present, there the relic is waiting to be used for some other purpose after beating atheon. So, what if the teleport glitch that takes us to another room that looks much like Atheons room. What if there is an undiscovered relic there and that room is the present. That would mean the room itself isn't a glitch but the time and manner in which we get there is the glitch. Which leads me to believe that we can somehow reach that room as a group somehow through the past and future portals. I think the fact that this place has to exist in the present somewhere and we can still open the portals could be the secret to the 7th chest(assuming the 6th chest turns out to be located in the broken vex gate outside of Atheons room). Some things to consider on this from my observations with the teleport 'glitch'. Every time someone in my group glitches it was when both portals were open and it was always the last person to exit the portal which could mean that they were still marked which falls in line with the portals marking you when you enter after atheon. Also I believe the theory of the glitch happening when you run through is bunk. Last time it happened to me I walked through like normal and came through in a room that was the same colors as Atheons room but had no pillars or plate ring visible although I was looking at a stone wall. Some people claimed it just put you out the back side, but both portals point towards Atheons area from behind. I think if this room exists and we get there through the portal then the chest itself will have some sort of trigger that isn't connected to opening the room. Last night we tested just one person going in and coming back out and it did nothing, I would like to try opening both portals after atheon dies and have 3 gaurdians go into both portals then leave both portals once everyone has entered, at the same time. If three hunters leave the past and three leave in the future maybe we'll find each other in the present. If that does nothing Id like to try everyone going in one portal or the other and leaving. I know this theory is a bit of a stretch based on the proof, but until some one has explored the area they accidentally teleport to, then it is very feasible, logical and plays into the lore. Please anyone testing theories, test this and let us all know what you find.

                  • I just found this not sure if it's true or not.... How to unlock the 7th chest:  (1st step, learn how to unlock chests 1-6. ) Begin the raid, do not allow any of the vex pads to be taken down while opening the raid gate. Enter the raid but proceed no further than the first chest. The 7th chest requires all players to take the secret pathways inside of the raid, they are there for a reason, and what most people find to be a complete waste of time is an underlying reason for most peoples failures in this subject. To the edge near the Chest1 you may look down and see white "nothingness" however, from a trained eye you can tell there is a reason for the change in color and the look of the walls, if you walk from chest1 to the closest ledge and almost off of it then turn back and look at chest1 , you can then drop off backwards , facing chest1. Immediately after you lose sight of the chest and you've fallen about your own bodies length, then press jump and push forward in the direction you've been facing. You will land in a secret corridor if done properly. Every member of a six person fire team must follow this path! beware though, you can not lose throughout the entire Templar arena to unlock the 6th and 7th chest. This includes that you must not only prevent the Templar from teleporting, but you must battle the waves of oracles and defend the three confluxes seamlessly. Is it possible, absolutely it is, with a mature team that has their head on straight, it certainly can be attained , and with ease if properly tuned... Even more so on the normal difficulty. I will not go into detail on the Templar boss battle, as if you are searching for chest 5-7 you should be adept ATLEAST.  1.opened the VOG raid door without losing any of the three vex pads from the start. 2. Located and successfully ventured through the first secret tunnel located, just underneath the first chest. 3.No one has died yet(if you are on hard difficulty) otherwise on normal difficulty you have to bring every teammate through the entire raid and cannot have all six people die at any one time. Now.. You have to complete the Templar battle without having him teleport. Still at no point can all six people die, this goes for the entire raid. One or two or even five are okay to be dead, as long as everyone can be revived.  4. After seamlessly defeating the Templars arena you must not take the path straight ahead, you must locate the second secret path on the left flank of the Templar arena. It's a small black hole located just above head height. Don't be too hasty on opening the chest located inside as it is chest 2 and it is the only chest to be known to prevent other chests from spawning! Be warned. To the left of the chest there's a hole that when crouched in can be crawled through, it will suddenly drop off into a secret cave. Inside this cave there is a secret location of the third chest. It is pretty well hidden, and I will tell you , it is located towards the end of the second secret tunnel but once you've passed a certain point you cannot get back up to this chest so I advice you figure out the location yourself or make sure someone you are raiding with knows. Just after the point if no return to chest three, chest four is located. It is a very neat chest, it is to be believed that this chest can give rewards to one character twice. I have confirmed this as well to be true. Once on normal difficulty you can receive anything from ascendants to exotics. Same with once on hard difficulty as well. 5.after locating chest number four you can proceed only one way, you must follow the right wall until you find a drop off with a small stream at the bottom. This is the way you must take out of the cave! Not your normal route. After all 6 players have jumped down, you find yourself outside of the gorgons maze and just shy of the fifth chest. With a good member on your team you can stay tight(close) to that person and without running or double jumping follow that person through the miniature gorgon maze to the 5th chest. You can't get soft now, one mistake voids all previous work going to orbit does not reset mistakes like all six members of the fire team dying or, getting caught by a gorgon. I cannot stress enough that having everyone leave except the party leader and have just him go through the maze and then everyone rejoining will destroy all the work you've done , it will suck especially seeing as how just after the actual gorgon maze you receive another chest.  6. Bring the entire team through the gorgon maze , without being caught. Go to the cave located to left after you proceed through tunnels below the gorgon maze and come to a large opening. The cave is located just above eye level on the left rock face. Proceed through the entire tunnel, on your left you see a broken down vex gate, this will come In very handy for the 7th chest later on. However, if you've done everything correctly so far.. You can locate the sixth chest. So standing at the edge of this hole in the wall , to your left a vex gate of in the distance and what appears to be a series of ledges and small corridors all along the wall on the right. These ledges are what will be one possible way to maneuver your way all the way down to the ledge straight down from where you are standing. You can also just drop!... Then jet pack or jump just before you hit the ground, preventing all damage. Located above head level is a hole on the stone wall lit up ever so slightly by crystals inside the hole. (This part can be done by all classes no matter what. Make your way up to a high enough point and look out in the direction of the vex gate, if you made it to the proper point you will be eye level with a platform that appears and disappears. Wait until you are comfortable enough, and when you feel you've timed it right take the jump and keep on jumping immediately to the next platform, one after another until you reach the gate of Atheon.  7. One player stay outside of the door before Atheon to keep it open. Complete the gate lord with all players alive. Before killing Atheon the door should be open, everyone should go out of the door, one person uses the appearing platforms to get to the vex plate. Creating a platform for everyone to ride on and tke them up to the 7th chest located at the tip of the what looks like a man made structure near the vex gate. So you will have to take turns for the final person to get number seven. Now go finish Atheon and enjoy the rewards.  Goodluck it's only ascendants until chest 7 except for chest 4 Source: http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/the-7-raid-chests-enjoy.1235302/

                    • Don't have any crazy theories. It simply seems to me that the criteria for the hidden chests is to zero the counters for each part of the vault. This would suggest that the final check simply spawns in plain sight when you kill Atheon with all other objectives complete. Given this there would appear to be a number of chests missing. 1. The chest awarded for no plates lost when opening the vault. You get a trimphant sound when you do this but, where's the chest. 2. The chest for doing the templar without him teleporting (The Titan Challenge). 3. The goron lair. Kill a Goron and escape the maze without being spotted. Note the gorgon kill will zero the spotted meter so I'm sure this is actually the task for the gorgon's lair. The rest of the Gorgons get stronger so this si likely to stop you trying to kill more and loosing the challenge. (The Hunter Challenge) 4. Atheon without using times vengeance, killing any oracles (running out of the teleport in time without killing any/all oracles will negate times vengeance for you) and self destructing supplicants instead of killing them. I think the other chests are simply placed in the vault as rewards for those unable to get the extra chests for the challenges (The challenges do seem stupidly harsh, especially the atheon one).

I killed 12 of them solo and then I died and spawned up on the highpoint were u jump down into the gorgon maze and then I saw, that all the red lights on the way down turned white!! U see the red light at the high left corner of the pic as a compare. I think you have to trigger all events in all locations and then the lights in front of the door to the vault of glass (atheon) have to be white! There are three light in front of atheons door. So 3 triggerevents? Prevent templar from teleport, kill gorgons till the lights turn white. And the 3rd?! You really can kill all 12 on your own. If you start the maze solo, you can revive urself. Then hit all 12 to low life and then kill one after another. There will spawn new ones. But I just killed the 12 gorgones from the beginning. If you go solo your damage is increased! Immune is not immortal!

On normal, we looted the all the 1st, 2nd ran to the 3rd, 4th and the 5th chest. After that, we then made it through the gorgon maze without being detected. # Prevented the templar from teleporting. # Survived gorgon maze without being detected. We jumped to the 6th possible chest location with some deaths in that passage , that is rumored to be on the left side after gorgon maze after the cave below that. • Think back to when the raid was fresh and cheesing the templar wasn't heard of. I know I wasn't the only one thinking "OK, so we can block the templar from porting, but were not going too because it's harder than X strategy. Why is that a raid mechanic there, then?" I know hindsight is always 20/20, but it seemed very obvious that there was more to the templar fight than just beating him. I think that teaches us two things. It teaches us that NO hidden rewards lie in the path of least resistance, and gentlemen, sneaking by the gorgons is the path of least resistance. I'm hoping it also teaches us the formula for the hidden rewards: overcome seemingly improbable odds too beat the phase and retrieve the reward through a hidden passage. Now, like everyone and their mother has suggested, I think the gorgons are the next phase to beat. Possibly by killing them, killing them all, or one specific one, in and order... I dont know, but what I do know is we have the next phase to overcome, we have a hidden passage that looks like it should contain a chest, and heck we even have a completely separate set of jumping stones to let you continue on your way. We just need to unlock the key of the gorgons. I think tsunamic 4 de might have figured it out, or at least come very close. I didn't see his stream, and I don't completely understand what it means, but it sure seems like he was onto something. I also fully believe the red lights are some kind of raid progress or hidden reward progress indicator. We must figure out the secret of the gorgons before we can proceed to the Atheon section!!!

After you kill the Templar without him spawning you can still get the chest even if you die on the way down its just on a time limit. You can even get the spirit bloom chest and the chest at the bottom will still be there. It's just a time limit. So maybe you have to kill a gorgon and then rush to that spot because of a time limit? Just a thought

                              • You can get a 6th chest if you take out all of the oracles right when they spawn in to show you the location of them. You have to have 2-3 hunters with golden ready I'm the spots😁 confirmed on normal

                                • Hang on, I was reading through the grimoire a little bit and on the card for the relic it states: "From my own Light and from the thinking flesh of the Vex I made a shield. The shield is your deliverance. It will break the unbreakable. It will change your fate." Now, it follows I suppose that the shield changes our fate during the Atheon encounter when we leave the portals and are given the message "Guardians make their own fate". However, the line that gets me is the one in bold above. Do we ever use the shield to break something unbreakable? I suppose it most likely refers to dropping the Templar's shield but I wonder if there is any more to it. Thoughts?
