I will be getting the DLC. I also think a lot of this "I got ripped off" talk is because of a spoiled younger generation of gamers. I have no problem paying a little extra for a game I sink countless hours in.

  • I don't think being spoiled is what this is all about. Imagine going to a restaurant, seeing a delicious burger (or salad for you vegans) on the menu, and the server tells you it's one of the best selling items because it is so good. Then, instead of that burger, they give you a salad, which may still be good, but you still have to pay burger price. Saying that people are spoiled is like telling that person in the restaurant they should be glad they got food at all. What if they shipped out Assassin's Creed in the Destiny box? I don't care how good the game is, it isn't what I ordered, and therefore I have the right to be displeased and want it fixed or refunded. Most players want Destiny to live up to its potential, which means giving back or implementing the content that was originally offered.

If you feel that choked about 60 dollars you should stop playing and find a better job. 60 dollars for 100+ hours of entertainment is the cheapest bang for the buck I can think of. If I was an XB1 fan boy I would defiantly be more choked at Microsoft for under delivering a 500 dollar product then bungie with their 60 dollar product. Edit: post not directed to OP rather the flock of sheep below.

  • 100+ hours? I can't even imagine how easily amused you must be. You are EXACTLY the kind of person I would like to buy my Pet Rock Simulator PC game...

Been saying this same thing since this nonsense started. If you're complaining about $60, find a better job. /thread

Better job has nothing to do with it. It comes down to how much you value your money.

  • The more money I make the less concerned I am with spending $60.00. So actually, it can be argued, that it does have something to do with it.

I got ripped off because the game is not what they advertised. It is only 20% of what is was in 2013. Even up to release day, trailers and commercials were chalk-full of things not in game. If i'm spoiled because i expect to get what i paid for, thats ok.

  • Spoiled? I expect my money to give me more than what the base game offered, simple enough.

  • According to your game history, your spent money has earned you over 100 hours of gameplay in Destiny. Most people gladly spend $60 for a game with a 20 hour story and then it sits on the shelf. You got 5 times that amount of time with the option to expand the story in two months.

  • You have to understand that the only reason people are playing over the 100+ hours mark is because due to the people they are playing with. If you are playing alone you will definetly drop this game quickly. As alot of the people whom use to be active on my friends list that i know couldnt find other people to play with quit because it got boring for them as they didnt have other people to play with. As it is the social aspect of playing with buddies and the hope that it will get better that is holding the game together at the moment. In deference to the next issue. Investing alot of hours into a game against whether or not you felt you were getting what you paid for is dumb. For example Deus Ex : Human Revolution was pricey but I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline but once i completed the game and all the other stuff, wham it got shelfed, costly with very little time spent on it but was worth it. Next example Infestation : Survivor stories, the hype was big for people into this genre and when it was advertised the beta was open with all the stated features there, everyone grabbed and paid for it quickly. Alas when we finally got in, zillions of features missing and it was downright shitty and I felt cheated for the price I a paid. However I spent over hundreds of hours on it due to the fact I had a fun time with buddies ambushing every survivor that came our way. Sure he will still play it because of his buddies being there, but for all those with no-one to play with due to whatever reason that they may have (family, timezone, personality & etc. That 60 bucks only gave them less than 50 hours of play. How is that worth it?

  • I've been gaming for 30+ years now, and I personally am sick of developers pushing out games that are either not completed or not ready. So many games have breaking glitches now its getting silly. We pay a lot of money for next gen games, so how is a half assed story, and a host of glitches value for money? The story was cut so much, it can only now be recognised through dental analysis! Yet Bungie continually "fix" non game breaking issues in PvP to keep the younger generation from crying. Bungie have been so desperate to appeal to the younger generation with this game, because the younger generation will not understand what value for money is. Cos it's their parents paying for it. The trend of selling DLC on the day of release also has to stop.

  • ...dude, you don't get it at all. This isn't about being spoiled or entitled. They literally ripped out chunk of the vanilla game to sell as dlc, this isn't added content it's cut content. That's like if you went to the movies, bought a ticket for a highly anticipated movie, and it turned out the movie is not only not what was advertised but you have to pay the full price again to see the second half of the movie.

  • Content being torn from the game to sell later as DLC is a conspiracy theory at best.

  • I'm probably older than you and feel ripped off, due to the fact being old enough to understand value for money.
