I've only seen 2 purple engrams since patch.
Am I the only player who is getting absolutely no loot drops?

The reason is the loot is dictated as what it is at the drop. Prior to the patch you'd see a purple drop, but in all reality it was probably a blue, hence why you see a ton more blues now. It's not the Cryptarch that sets what an item is.
