"I Only Kill Oracles"
I had someone tell me this during a raid last night when I told them to take left plate.
I asked 'em, "What do you plan on doing when they patch the raid and change it to random teleports and you have no idea what to do when it comes to the other positions?" [i]It's not like it's rocket science, but still.[/i]
He said, "I go on bnet everyday and I didn't see anything about that." I booted him from the fireteam and we beat it with 5 players.
Point is, learn the other positions... learn them all. It makes rotating to a different position very easy when something bad happens (deaths). You'll also be ready for when they patch the raid. Too many times have I seen people being told, "You're doing this." or "I need you for this. Go here." and they're like, "I only kill oracles."

Oracles are pretty easy to kill... the only thing I am not so good at is relic, only because someone else always grabs it to save time.

I only do gates because I'm lazy and it's easy. Not that i cant do the other stuff, I just don't want to. This atheon patch is my worst nightmare.

that is why i am going to put a fireteam together when the patch is out of just guys who wanna learn how to ues the relic properly without having to "disturb" others; as soon i am good enough with the relic i will go out looking for others to do the raid with ...

good job in booting him he seemed like that guy that never listens and takes 4+ hours to beat the raid because hes not doing anything

Yes, we have one Guy in our Team with exactly the same problem. He refuses to pick up the Relic. I told him bout the Patch and the random Teleports but he wants to kill the Oracles. Or in the Templar Area he always wants to be on the right side (and tries to get one of the better players to this side too). He´s not a bad player and knows what to do but only if its like he wants it. No random factors.

9 RepliesEveryone can do every role BUT relic holder. Relic holder needs to hold the relic and kill either a minotaur and 2 golblins or 3 hobgoblins. If you arent 28 on normal or 30 on hard you will have quite a bad time doing this. I have seen plenty of people ruin the entire run jjust because they had to hold the relic. Worst one was on hard where the only 28 grabbed the relic and died 5 seconds later.... We specifically told him not to. Atheon was at about 5% Hp... Needless to say we were al pissed of at him.

Yep. I may have tried to explain to him why he needs to learn a different position, or that he needs to learn it this time. But I can understand why you booted him.

1 ReplyI dont know maybe you shouldnt have booted him its kinda like sports, for example in basketball you have specialists people that are good at handling the ball some are not, people that are sharpshooters some are not, people that are great at defense some are not, people that are good at free throws some are not, people that can do little of all some can not, lastly some have great leadership qualities (captains) and some do not. Everyone know their roll and does it you dont put your free throw specialist trying to guard lebron james know what I mean.

I can do many roles. I am a supplicant killer. I can kill oracles and grab the shield providing i have help with the Minotaur.

I have been in so many times and can do anything but the shield. Never messed with it lol. With the upcoming patch I figure I may have to learn it though lol

Hahahaha that boot! But yea I agree, it will be very important for every player to know what to do in every role once they patch.

I won't lie, I used to be [i]that guy.[/i] Then I was forced I to using a shield, and now I feel like I've got the hang of it and I'll never pass up an opportunity at it. (Obviously I could hold a sink plate, too. C'mon now!) But I also have a fully upgraded Atheon's Epilogue, so I like taking out Oracles.

You're totally right, and you know what?! These people have the same chance of dropping/being lvl 30 as you :) FU**ING frustrating. I take the shield every time because "i'm not able/i die if i get it.." IT'S ONLY 3 BUTTONS. So happy for the patch, ty bungie

What he says is "I only kill oracles", but what he means is, "I'm not a team player". Totally deserved the boot; good on you for your quick decision.

1 ReplyI agree that a person on the raid should be able to help kill everything. Vex taking a plate? Rip em up. Oracles spawning? Rip em up. You gotta take the relic? RIP EVERYTHING UP. I'll admit, I prefer to stay outside during the Atheon fight to pick off supplicants and direct the home team, regardless of what class I'm playing. While I can go inside, I simply prefer not to. If this patch goes through, I know I'll have to go in sometimes and that's a thing I'll have to deal with. There are some people who don't do well in stressful situations like being teleported and having to rely on someone else to see. There are those that just plain suck at killing things quick enough while inside, or aren't good with the relic. This I understand, but "I only kill oracles" boy is simply baffling.

1 ReplyI definitely have positions that I favor, like the left Conflux on the Templar encounter or being on the outside team during Atheon, but I've taken the time to learn how to play other roles to be more flexible.
