Im 29 turning 30 in Feb and I feel like im too old to be playing, I have a wife and 2 kids in which I spend quality time with and work 6-7 days a week usually.
I play Destiny whenever I find the time to do so but lately I keep getting invited to do VOG (I still havent done it yet) and the other 5 fire team peeps are like screaming 12-13 year olds and that is also the reason I refuse to use a mic.
Tbh, I feel embarrassed because these people are young and being the only adult just makes me feel uneasy, like if I used a mic and spoke they will probably give me shit about my age and some of the people wont let me come do VOG unless I use a mic anyways.
It was like when I played mw2 when it came out and the lobbies filled up with screaming trash talking kids and it spread like a cancer so I quit and haven't touched a CoD game since lol. I bought the game to enjoy it,not to listen to kids yell at each other going on about being molested by their dad or gay this and gay that.
I just dont know what to do? I think I might just stay at level 29, any other adults here that feel like they can somewhat relate to this?
[EDIT] So much positive feedback, I was not expecting so many replies and you can believe me when I write that I have read every single comment in this thread and it warms the heart knowing just how many others are just like me.
Thank you so much everybody.
Oh and I noticed a few people asking what console im on, im on the PS4 and I will be sure to check out the mature clans out there that were suggested.

32 married with 2 kids, I love this game and I have a great group of same age guys I play with also. Keep searching and you'll find the right guys to join.

When your voice has broken - how can you tell how old someone is on a game? I'm 32 and love gaming. I play destiny maybe twice a week when all my other responsibilities are taken care of. I raid with randoms and most have been older teens / adults - very rarely do I play with squeakers but when I do, it's pretty funny listening to them carry on due to novelty factor. Never give up something you enjoy cos you are worried about what other people think.....

36 years old and playing! I play with kids sometimes, it's quite nice actually:) they're from Quebec and being French, I do really enjoy their accent. The most important is to have fun and I am sure you'll find some teammates among all destiny's gamers.

28 married and have a 2yr old (yay for early bed times) me and the misses play when we get a chance at night. So dont feel too old. Just mute haha

Edited by Roush429R: 2/21/2015 3:18:25 AM37 and happily married with 3 kids. Of course that means my online time is dampened, but I still love to play. Have been gaming since the Atari 2600 and haven't looked back! So game on!
-
Don't feel bad dude. I'm 29. Still game as much as I can. Also the average gamer is 35. So you're still good

I am 37 with 5 kids and a wife and work 68 hours a week. I play to relax, I run raids because they are the most fun. ( Personally I prefer VOG but Crota is ok). Find a group play a couple of times and add the people you had fun playing with. If you enjoy playing don't stop.

Nope. Never too old to do what you enjoy. It's your life, spend it how you want. Don't be embarrassed. Don't let others get in your way of living your life. There are tons of teens and adults in this game too. :)
-
Do what makes you happy!!! The only wrong way to live your life is judging others by the way they live theirs.

38 married with a 14 yr old and a full time job and still have time to get 2 lvl 32 guardians age has nothing to do with gaming if you love it do it
-
It's pretty much your generation that grew up on gaming. Don't feel too worried, these younger kids (I dunno if I should include myself. Would 18 throw me in with them?) are just climbing aboard the band wagon known as gaming. For you, it's a hobby. For them, it's just something to do.
-
I'm 31 will be 32 I game a lot and don't see myself stopping any time soon
-
I'm 23. Love gaming. Hope the gaming industry is still OK when I'm retired ;)
-
You spend quality time in your wife and kids? I mean I understand spending quality time in your wife but for gods sake man, please don't be inside your children. It's quite wrong.
-

Edited by EchoBane: 2/21/2015 2:32:59 AMMost of the people I've raided with don't sound 12-13 and I've raided from around late September/ early October to late January( and usually with random groups most of the time. I didn't really here that many in MW2 either and I played it every day I had it until my xbox got the red ring of death while playing it( which was like 3 or 4 months) and it's still my favorite cod game.

I'm 33 with two kids my oldest is four he's getting good at doing the bounties for me. I think gaming will be something that me and my kids will always be able to do together.
-
43....and if I'm alive and able, will still be gaming at 83.
-
52 here. I'm not proud to be a gamer to my family. Everyone else is relatively successful. But it's something that helps me relax and unwind after work.
-
I'll play with you sometime man. Me and my group I play with are late 20's to early 30's. We do both raids, nightfalls, weeklies and crucible/iron banner. My psn is BearShare02.
