A silent gamer pushed too far.
I'm gonna come right out and say it, I love Destiny! I find everything enjoyable about it, even the lack of purple drops, Xur and the items he sells, getting my butt kicked in the Crucible, Strikes with players who are trying to get the "Complete a Strike without dying" bounty...etc. But what has pushed me too far are the players, if you can call them that, who bitch and complain about every little thing. Look, if you think the game is that bad, trade it in and buy a can of "shut the hell up". If you have such great ideas, why aren't you writing/ making games? I think it's amazing what Bungie has done with this game, yes the story is lacking a bit, but the technical stuff that's happening on the back-end is great (seamless story, patrol and public events). Are there things that I would like to see different? Sure, but it's not a big deal to me. I enjoy the game, and other games for what they are and represent. If I don't like a game I won't play it, if it aggrevates me, I won't play it. So I guess my bottom line is to those who bitch and complain is, find a new game to play and stop whining. But maybe you are this way with all games. And remember you are not entitled to anything, let Bungie do what they do best... create great games. Thanks for the time.
(EDIT) It seems that some of you are missing my point. I never said to quit communicating with Bungie. Constructive criticism goes a long way. There are some great ideas here on the forum, but to me those are over shadowed by the ignorant ones; "stupid bungie, now my gun does 2% less damage or I'm entitled to my exotic because I got it from a drop, you're not because you bought it from Xur (I love Xur). Those are the whinners that I'm talking about. I'm not sure if the game needs to be "improved" or just expanded. I like the forums overall, I enjoy reading about creative ideas. I just don't understand all of the bashing and disrespect. Again, thanks for the time.

The thing is bungie did say the game was going to ground breaking , but it the same as all the other games this style. Just better servers at the start of the game. There a lot of asia games now and other country that doing what there doing just most it in 3rd person view , but the targeting the same. Also the game becoming a themepark game with rails instead of the players abilities and teamwork. and there not adapting to the players stuff and adding the content to fixed it . instead there nerfing the players work in the game. How they kind of hyped the game was going be the community games. A more sandbox game. One of the issues i hear from alot of people is the game just becoming a halo game instead of a destiny game. A lot of the ideas are from all the other games in this same style , were they fail and succeeded , and that what people want is the succeeded stuff. They do not want it to turn into CoD or Halo , there is promise in the game, Also the MMO crowd data mine the disk and found out that all the content for the next 2 expansion already set up for the game and ticked them off. Would been have been better to just have the full version of the game and a cash shop and a 6 month real expansion at 30$ bucks .

10 RepliesPeople on here are bad at math. AR were nerfed by more than 2% damage. You don't go from doing 54 dmg to 78 on the lower end of a suros regime to 37 and 45 on the lower end with a 2% damage drop. The head shot multiplier was reduced from 1.50 to 1.25 which is 25% dmg drop. Bungie knows most of you are bad at math... Buying something from xur just removes the RnG of getting what you want, your point is not valid. I now have 97 strange coins I put in many hours to get those and I work. Yea, playing till 5 with work right around the corner... Idiots also equate complaints with not liking the game. Complaints won't go away, instead they serve to direct those with authority towards a problem that can have a solution. Though not all complaints will be equal in value. Guess who else complained in the past? Our forefather about getting over taxed for tea, yes I am over simplifying. I bet there were idiot who were saying buy a can of shut the hell up, thank goodness they didn't listen :/ All I've read here is a projection of one perspective, the game is amazing which wishes to silence other perspectives. Here is another perspective, I like the game that's why I keep coming back, I sometimes play very long hour despite having to work the next day for motes of light and coins because Xur is coming and might have something I want. I look at how I think the mechanics of the game work and adapt that into how I grind. I'm supposed to be a casual gamer with maybe hardcore hours. I'll complain about things that don't make sense because I'm driven by logic thus why I like breaking things down and like math. I have no issue with other people complaining about stuff, because I can ignore them and I'm already a below average player so I'm not affected. For example: Hunters are overpowered, so? Blast them with a shotgun and tell them sit down. That nerf on range did nothing :P

1 ReplyI hear you man, I feel the same way. The only thing I'm real tired of after logging 200 Hours is that I have played every activity ever and haven't revived a single Exotic Drop. Ever. :/ It's not that I won't stop playing but, c'mon. Not the Strikes, Not the Crucible, Not The Raid And Sure as hell not the Engrams. I just wish something could be done. Xûr is the best

7 RepliesI think it is fine to comment that you love Destiny, I love it too. I think there should be improvements and I'm hoping they will come. That said, if you listened to DeeJ on the Guardian Radio podcast he said they don't need any white knights to defend them from criticism. Bungie has people who scour the forums looking at the criticism and taking that to the developers. I imagine they are looking at both the constructive criticism and the "angry, I'm leaving" type criticism. I think the constructive, well thought out criticisms and suggestions get higher priority than "You nerfed my weapon, I'm leaving this POS game" comments. Some of the anger would be minimized if Bungie and DeeJ had a method to let players know where on the developer's list the suggestions and issues are. Something that simply says "we've heard your suggestions and requests" and "here's a list of the issues/requests and the priorities we've attached to them" would be great feedback from Bungie.

What I think most players don't get is that bungie has planned for this game to span over 10 years, that's a lot of story telling. You can't expect to get the whole story from the completion of the first 16 or so hours of the campaign. It will develop over time which makes sense considering the proposed life span. And I agree there are parts of the story that could have been done a little better for example a chapter system for each dlc and for the initial disc to give players closure on that section. All in all I do enjoy this game very much and have found new love after getting a 2nd character leveled. Keep rocking bungie!

1 ReplyMy only issue with the game is the players no life-ing the pvp matches and the crap luck with the public events how those who been busting their asses to complete to get gold but receives nothing but those who barely made it and did nothing to help out get rewarded with the ascendant shard/energy... kinda rather annoying and bs -__-

Seamless story, patrols and public events? Are you trolling? The story is non existent, there are like 3 patrol missions repeated on every planet and the public events are on a timer, not random and are crap.

I agree for the most part. Constructive criticism is necessary as it seems Bungie is incorporating complaints and criticisms. I see you singled out people complaining about gun needs in your edit. I would like to use the example of the Vex Mythoclast. I support anyone who criticizes the nerf. It does not make sense that the gun exclusive to the highest level raid is useless. The upcoming buff for it in PVE is necessary in my mind. I do struggle with the concept of balance in games. I think every gun serves a purpose at certain times and certain environments.

3 RepliesI think most people are continuing to complain because Bungie arent looking at the constructive criticism and are almost ignoring the community. Now in no way am i saying what they are doing is bad but the complaining is a result of their 'ways'.

1 ReplyUnfortunately you can't stop all the bitching and complaining, the game could be nearly almost perfect and you'd still have whiners. That's just how it is. Many people that are complaining seem to not understand that the game is in its early stages. Give it a chance and see what it becomes. I do think it lacks in some places but overall I enjoy the game

If this game was being made by a brand new developer, maybe I'd say I agree with you. But this game was well-funded, well-staffed, and had everything they needed to create the spectacular game they promised. Destiny falls so short to the expectations that were set by bungie. It's not like the employees are underpaid. They make more than any other developers! So what was their excuse?
