A silent gamer pushed too far.
I'm gonna come right out and say it, I love Destiny! I find everything enjoyable about it, even the lack of purple drops, Xur and the items he sells, getting my butt kicked in the Crucible, Strikes with players who are trying to get the "Complete a Strike without dying" bounty...etc. But what has pushed me too far are the players, if you can call them that, who bitch and complain about every little thing. Look, if you think the game is that bad, trade it in and buy a can of "shut the hell up". If you have such great ideas, why aren't you writing/ making games? I think it's amazing what Bungie has done with this game, yes the story is lacking a bit, but the technical stuff that's happening on the back-end is great (seamless story, patrol and public events). Are there things that I would like to see different? Sure, but it's not a big deal to me. I enjoy the game, and other games for what they are and represent. If I don't like a game I won't play it, if it aggrevates me, I won't play it. So I guess my bottom line is to those who bitch and complain is, find a new game to play and stop whining. But maybe you are this way with all games. And remember you are not entitled to anything, let Bungie do what they do best... create great games. Thanks for the time.
(EDIT) It seems that some of you are missing my point. I never said to quit communicating with Bungie. Constructive criticism goes a long way. There are some great ideas here on the forum, but to me those are over shadowed by the ignorant ones; "stupid bungie, now my gun does 2% less damage or I'm entitled to my exotic because I got it from a drop, you're not because you bought it from Xur (I love Xur). Those are the whinners that I'm talking about. I'm not sure if the game needs to be "improved" or just expanded. I like the forums overall, I enjoy reading about creative ideas. I just don't understand all of the bashing and disrespect. Again, thanks for the time.

5 RepliesI agree. I'm a web developer, and honestly it's the highlight of my day sometimes when I build a new feature and someone takes the time to tell me they thought it was awesome. Bungie developers are probably also actual humans, and reading day after day of hardcore negativity probably sucks for them as much as it would suck for any other human.

No.... You are right. I'm also amazed as of how bungie responds to the complainers, and how they have "fix" and change things. This game is AWSOME especially the time frame they had and how bad the community wanted this game out ASAP. I think we're lucky to get it now, from what I know they were going to wait another year for release so... But it still lacks communication within game and forget the barter system it's great without it. Just my opinion😐

I'm glad you're standing up for what you think is right honestly. There's no right or wrong way to go about telling others to stop complaining and enjoy something. I hate to say this though but nothing good will come of this. They complain.. You complain.. Everyone complains. It's a horrible cycle that is this generation of gamers. Self-entitlement is rampant with no signs if recovery. What do you do to not be a part of it? Don't complain but take up a more active role and be a better part of the community by doing as much "good" for it as you can. Be selfless. Be courageous. Take risks. Community is power and it can be used for good. I don't know how many times I will say it. Defend your honor, Guardian.

8 RepliesThe bashing and disrespect comes from the CODfish that can't grasp diversity in and out of PVP. The ones that can't grasp that everything doesn't come all at once and you just might have to work a little bit to get your enjoyment out of the game long after the fresh new game smell is gone

I still can't believe how people can't grasp the concept of moving on to something else if they don't like it. There are even more people who claim to like it, and continue to play it (some obsessively), but still decide to bash it regularly. Then, they claim that their whining is the only thing that's going to cause any changes. What they don't understand is constructive criticism. If they did, they would be in the FEEDBACK part of the forums constructively criticizing it about what they think needs balancing / fixing / added, and how their ideas would be better for the game and community as a whole. Instead they come to the wrong part of the forums to bitch/moan/gripe/cry/whine/etc... about every little thing which does nothing but promote and fuel a toxic forum community. To each their own I guess. Keep doing what your doing Bungie, I've loved the game since the start. Every fix you've put in so far I've agreed with, and I personally can't wait for you to fix Atheon so we can finally separate the boys from the men.

1 ReplyYou referred to those saying they hate the game. People sometimes say it out of passion. The hours logged obviously suggest they enjoy the game. They are just looking for destiny to move forwards with the updates, and not backwards. I certainly fall into this category. I play destiny a lot, but stuff like getting a white shader 6+ times and one bit of raid gear, whilst your team mate you play with every week gets the chest,boots,arms and 2 raid guns (sniper and epilogue) in a single run (yesterday). It can be disheartening to say the lease.

I somehow have to think about the SEGA-drama with Aliens: Colonial Marines where an entire Demo was faked. And you also forget another thing. All we currently get from Bungie are nerfs that don't make sense (trash PvE for PvP ie) , ways how we "should" play their game and nothing else. No roadmap, no info about improvements etc. Nothing. And you wonder why a lot of people are frustrated in the forums - really?
