Have got the error code Stingray immediately from attempting to log in. Can confirm that my friend ( MetalSerenity) is having the same issue.
I have also seen several other players on the help forum with the same error code.
Please post your experiences with the animal kingdom here.

Hopefully Our good friends at Bungie will get onto this as we're picking up an awful a lot of replies.
It hasn't worked for me but if you try this
System Settings - Storage - Device Options (Y on the controller) - Clear System Cache

Same issue in Virginia. I was lucky and was able to play with little interruption from day one.......Uuuuuuntil about 20 min. ago. The use of the stingray code tells me the code naming convention is random and in no way valid because my internet and xbox live work just fine. Might as well have said "search for error code: incompetence". I can't wait for some lazy-minded half-witted support drone to suggest I monkey with my modem and router setup (been working perfectly for years). What are the odds bungie makes this right? Or even explains the true nature of the issue just to keep everyone informed? Hmmmmm, what to do........
