I like all the ideas posted here. I have no fresh idea to add but more of a suggestion that I'm sure can be added to the current game in a free update. [b]let me use my ghost as a flashlight whenever and wherever I want to![/b]
There are some areas in the game that are honestly dark enough to warrant the ghost light, but since its not a place where your ghost is scripted to provide light you have to resort to pressing select several times in an attemp to make his spawning animation work as some kind of varely usable sonar. Not fun, not very useful.
Remember that one early trailer where they were exploring?
"Hows it looking?"
"Getting dark"
" hold on. Let me take out my ghost"

In fact i would like to see a new strike or raid that is almost exclusively done within the dark narrow tunnels in pitch black with just the flashlights for illumination, of which we can turn on or off to hide/see enemies. Add to this the foes dropping down from ledges that we might not notice as we creep through, or from behind as they take blind passages we miss. Bring some paranoia to the event, make me jump when I am startled by an unseen enemy - USE the flashlight and environment to immerse me in the experience. In fact I think that as I work out the details of the "First Ghost" raid I had in mind to unlock these templates I will have to use this idea. Maybe it will give the raid the same memorable effects as Space Hulk and Aliens, where you look back on them and laugh at how you nearly pissed yourself when something jumped out at you, or lit up a hallway with the last of your flamethrowers fuel when a bug flew past your faceplate.
