Agreed. a good group should have everyone able to do all roles in my opinion as it can make or break a run when things go bad because vog is notoriously bugged. With that said random teleports is a bad idea. The raid is hard enough as it is and I honestly would rather not spend my hard earned weekend hours spent wiping so that everyone gains mastery of every role

  • Thank you. Yes, being able to perform roles in the event of an emergency is good - it's actually great. And we have people ready for those emergencies. But we have our preferred positions that play to our strengths. I've seen the argument that everyone being conpletely equal is still a team effort, and yes it really is and I won't dispute it. But it's a different type of team... Some may say "better", but I can't. "More versatile", sure - but I like to play with many different kinds of people. With enough forced practice and whitewashed equipment we can all be Spartan II-type characters but that takes away a sense of identity within a party. I try not to compare this game to other efforts, by any company, but that feels like the idea... and even in that game four players tend to take different roles, especially after completing it at least once and knowing what's around the corner. I'm sorry, I probably replied more than you wanted or intended. Just happened to say the right words at the right time. If you feel differently, please don't get upset; I've tried to keep my argument free of hostilities and if you've seen any of my comments you'll know I don't reply to angry or hostile ones.
