Whenever you do a Strike mission, if you see one of the other people on your fireteam is MIA, REPORT THEM.
It only takes a few seconds to report them for inactivity, and I'm guessing Bungie punishes people if they get reported enough.
I'm a decent player so It's not like I really need this person's help. The reason it bugs me is because I think they just join the strike missions and purposely go MIA while the other people complete it. Not only does this reward them with gear but it counts towards their Toland's Legacy Exotic Bounty.
These bounties are supposed to be difficult to obtain. If you can't put the effort in to complete them, then maybe you don't deserve the rewards.
TL;DR: Inactive players suck

I'm going to disagree purely on the basis that I played a strike last week that I hasn't played before. My "teammates" clearly knew which encounters to fly past and the route underground. Meanwhile I'm wandering around trying to find the correct path. Some of those tunnels turn you around and there isn't always an obvious route. I turned up late to a couple of the battles only to see them run off again. So I wasn't hanging back I just hadn't done the mission before.
