Destiny Gear... Do you agree?

have wasted way too much time on this game to be stuck at 29! I have completed the raid on normal at least 7 times with my Warlocks (I made 2 after I was unable to get raid gear) and on hard mode numerous times, and still need the damn grieves! This is just my opinion... The difference between a level 29 and 30 guardian is very significant in damage dealt/taken when tackling end game content. The difference generally between a a 29 player and a 30 player is generally flat out LUCK. Some people are lucky and can hit 30 in 2 - 3 raid runs, others running on multiple characters struggle to get there. Which makes sense, I've played many MMO's before and know its the random nature that keeps you coming back. The difference between most MMO's (yes I know this isn't a typical MMO) and this one is that in general, upgrading a single piece of gear yields you slightly better stats, (more strength, intellect, damage etc.) in this one, the difference by going up just one level is huge. I fail to see why the difference between 29/30 is so significant when there is no reliable way of getting there. My suggestions for this game: 1. Make level difference between 29 and 30 much less dramatic, as the only factor really getting most people there is luck. 2. Allow PVP (Crucible) gear to be specific, and be the best gear in PVP. This seems pretty standard in most games. The gear you obtain from crucible should have the best perks for crucible, getting you to max level, but having a noticeable disadvantage in PVE (Raiding/strikes). What should not happen is random drops/exotics from PVE content dominating the crucible as they do. 3. Have a random loot system (it works well), but weight it towards gear a player has not obtained. I really enjoyed sharding an extra mythocast, 2 extra epilogues, 2 helmets and about 4 warlock bands from the raid while still searching for that one piece to make me 30! (insert sarcasm)

  • You should get a guaranteed piece for every 5 raids or something lol

The issue with the Crucible is it doesn't give out level related gear for lower level players to use. I see higher level players getting rare gear they don't need and my lower level characters don't get squat whether it be weapons or armor. Bungies system is crap, plain and simple. My sub-account characters have weapons and gear from the Crucible for lower levels which doesn't make any sense. I'd like armor with light at their levels vs. running bounties and chest runs.

    • Try to get an exotic to replace what you're missing

      • I feel you're pain, but I think you're over-reacting. I can't speak to the Hard-mode Raid (haven't done it)...but you do NOT need to be level 30 for any of the other end-game content. I've done the Nightfall that last two weaks with only one KTO each time. Today with two 28s and our thrid being a level 26 Warlock. Similar success with the Weekly Heroics with a FT.... ..and I'm soloing the Heroic Dailies at Level 28. What I noticed made a big difference in how effective I was in my raid runs wasn't my "level"....but how LEVELED-UP my weapons were. I saw more of a difference between going in with my primary weapon with a 267 Attack....and it fully-levelled up to 300, than I saw going in as 27 versus a 28. The difference between 267 and 300 meant the difference between putting down a level 28 Vex with two less-than-perfect shots....and requiring four to get the job done. So rather than fretting over something that you have NO control over, take advantage of the arsenal of raid weapons you've been lucky enough to amass. Make sure they are fully levelled up, and you'll be doing all you can to make yourself effective in the Hard raid. Because, its just a fact of life when you are dealing with a random process...the more SPECIFIC the outcome you are looking for, the LESS likely it is to occur. Because the number of possible outcomes you DON"T want, increases.
