It's a shame this isn't in the game and will most likely be covers by dlc...

I don't think it was planned for all this to be covered in the released game. The is the first game out of 5 planned. Don't expect to know a whole lot about the darkness or the storys of all these things. Right now we have only seen .8% of the planned game so far. I have a feeling we are being kept in the dark about the story for a reason. This stuff will reveal itself to us in time. We have another 10 years to stop whatever the darkness is and I plan to stay with bungie until it is.

First of 5 games? Sources?
-
Destiny is a 10 year game with a new one released ever 2 years. I'm not going to google for you to find a source. You can do it if you would like. But there will be 5 games that will be released over the next decade.

Pretty much. Every franchise does this, too. Look at Halo. It wasn't until Halo 2 that we really learned anything about the Covenant, and it wasn't until Halo 4 that we finally got concrete info about the Forerunners. Gears of War, Crysis etc. all do the same thing.

Even those games weren't as vague as this...
-
Uhm, no. They are far, far vaguer. In Halo, who the Covenant were, why they were attacking us, any details about their ideals or motivations etc. were totally untouched. Destiny actually explains a lot about it's various races and what's going on. Same with Gears of War. It introduced us to the Locust and the Lambent, but told us nothing about them.

Whatever. I'm done with this

Yeah the same but WAY , WWWAAAAAY BETTER!

How, exactly, is it better?
