Are helpful people a dying breed?
why is it so difficult to find people actually willing to help and just have fun with? so what if you wipe a few times, shits n giggles ... and to people saying it's because they don't like wasting time , guess what? you're playing a game! you already are wasting time!
what happened to just playing for fun, why is it being replaced by "i can do it faster" or "i have more kills!"
it's co-op , yet seems many people forgot what co-op is :(

No, they are not. My first complete vault run was a with a really helpful lvl29. He even carried us through the nightfall after that. Since then I've been helping around when I'm free.

More than willing to help if anyone needs it, just don't be sending me random party/game invites...all it takes is a message politely asking for help. I'm happy to run the raid with first-timers, as long as they listen and communicate, fair enough I've only completed it three times which is less than most but I know what I'm doing and I can have fun while doing it, I'm not gonna get annoyed and suddenly leave. So if anyone does want help with something then just add me or send me a message on PS4 - charmed1996

I'll help friends but not usually randoms. Why is it people never inv or talk to you just to be friendly not so they can use you to complete something for them. That's what you should be asking lol

4 RepliesEvery time someone randomly invites me to a fireteam it's a lvl 24 or similar and they launch the nightfall every time as soon as I join. I don't like the idea of simply being used to help because i'm a higher lvl than them to be honest

2 RepliesI help a fair amount. My problem is that I will not respond to a random game/party invite. Message me, ask me for help, ask if I want to do something, and I often will (assuming I'm not already in the middle of doing/helping someone else). Unfortunately, a lot of the people who try to get my attention are not willing to send a simple message saying "can you help me with xxxxxxx?" Also, if someone tells me to help them because they can't take the time to type please, plz, or some other form of making something a request, I don't bother. That's just me though.

Most of the people I run into on patrols I help, and they are pretty good about returning the favor. However there are a lot of bad eggs in the Tower that make it hard to be nice. And I feel for the level 30s. The first one I saw on PS3, I approached and waved intending to congratulate him. As soon as I waved, he melee'd and shot at me like we were in the Crucible until I walked away.

1 ReplyI usually help when i have the time(finished everything. I can do for the day/week), yesterday i was doing bounties to max out my atheon's epilogue, which i was able to do, and i saw a message from someone doing the devils lair weekly strike. They wrote "can you please help me" so i jumped in and we got it done pretty quickly. I think i was the only one he asked from the people around us because i was the only level 30 there. After we completed it he wrote "thank you so much". i like helping others and like seeing people who appreciate what others do for them. I already did the strike on max level 3 times on 3 characters so i wasn't gaining something from it in case anyone was wondering. If you help out others, others might help you.

After that (since i use only 1 account) i try to help newbies into VoG advising them on what to do in this scenario and what's the best way to go about it, also during the atheon stage, before we kill the gatekeeper, i'm going to teach everyone to have 2 roles and an emergency role since atheon will use random teleportation on players not far from now. if anyone has some tips for me let me know please for future ideas in the VoG

6 RepliesHelpful people will die when that randomized VoG gets update. Atheon teleporting at random? -blam!- that. Im probably gunna stick with my own team. I normally would help, but the craziness that would bring is stupid.

Not a dying breed I try to help as many people run the raid as possible. I like showing people who haven't run it all the little secrets I have learned running it a lot.

Just want to say sometimes it's hard to find helpful people, but they are out there, u just have to keep searching. Did the VOG for the 1st time today. Took awhile, people came and went, but eventually we ended up finishing it. Thanks to everyone who didn't give up and kept helping! You the real MVP.
