No leave the raid gear for the people that actually wanna take the extra step and beyond. Quit asking to get things handed to you and just go earn it. It's not hard people

  • That's kinda exactly what he's asking. The Raid isn't very difficult once you know what to do, and rolling dice for the RNG to give you the proper gear isn't earning anything anymore than pulling the lever on a slot machine and scoring big is earning anything. OP wants the player to actually earn their 30 rather than being handed to you via an RNG dice roll. Specifically, by grinding for Motes of Light, which have a definitive method to attain them, in order to level up your character.

  • You are earning it. Have you ever beaten hard? Have you ever even beaten normal? The armour acquired is earned by doing the hardest thing in the game. People a are only complaining they can't get the helmet and mythoclast because when they pushed atheon off on hard it didn't give it to them. Well I did it multiple times and earned it

  • The Raid is not hard. The RNG loot system, however, is a total asshole with no soul. I've put in the effort for the Raid. My friend has put in the same amount of effort. What do I have? Chatterwhite and a couple Oracle weapons, and 2 ugly ships. What does my friend have? Everything from the raid except one of the two ugly ships, and maybe one or two of the Oracle weapons. He has the Mythoclast, I have 60+ shards. I would love a handout because this is bull shit for me to put in all the work to reach Atheon, have all the people I was playing with leave because of real life things, then a day or so later, I have my actual friends join me on my checkpoint, and they get all the good rewards and I get a second Hezen Vengeance and a few Shards.

  • Rngesus doesnt care thats the point in it? Other wise everyone would be 30 by now and no one would be playing

  • I'm not saying hand me all the Raid gear in one go, I just wish it hadn't taken over a month to finally get 1 piece of armor, whereas friends of mine have been level 30 since the second week of the raid. When a game bases your level off the stats on your armor, but then literally dumps copy after copy into the laps of your already level 30 friends while you get nothing again is just -blam!-ing ridiculous. Raid 1 - Guy 1: Gets raid armor - Guy 2: Gets shards Raid 2 - Guy 1: Gets more raid armor - Guy 2: Gets shards Raid 3 - Guy 1: More raid armor - Guy 2: Gets shards Raid 3.5 (Hard) - Guy 1: Gets Timebreaker, Mythoclast and Helmet - Guy 2: shards and an ugly ship Raid 4 - Guy 1: Shards, but he was needing a few anyways - Guy 2 :Shards which he doesn't need and the normal ship, just as ugly Raid 4.5(Hard) - Guy 1: didn't complete it - Guy 2: Another ship and energy this time Raid 5 - Guy 1: Armor again - Guy 2: Finally a -blam!-ing chest piece and an exotic weapon I feel this ^ is an issue. Having level be based on luck is just... stupid. If level were just exp, then I could be level 30, but no. If level were based on skill, I'd be a higher level than my level 30 friend, but no. It's based on luck and an RNG which will apparently give my friend everything on his first try, and make me wait a month for one -blam!-ing piece. (Note: In case you couldn't tell, I'm Guy 2)

  • I have. The part where I was talking about my friend joining in my game at Atheon? That was a hard run I did with randoms, made it to Atheon, they all left. I came back a day or so later with friends who weren't around when I was looking to do the raid, but were up for helping me beat Atheon. We kill him, I get the ugly ship and more shards. My friend who joined in gets the raid helmet, the mythoclast and the Timebreaker sparrow all in one go. Hell, I would have been happy with just the Timebreaker, because at least it serves a purpose other than the ships, which are just screen saver icons, and ugly ones at that. I feel the Raid ships look like ass, and I only use the Aspect of Glass as it's all I have to show my Hard Raid victories. I have gotten enough shards from the Raid to upgrade 3 Exotics, 3-4 Purple Armor items that aren't raid gear, and still have 60+ shards leftover.

  • I said it wouldn't make the raid pointless. There are still raid weapons, and those that do the raid will get tons of xp faster than anyone else. You can't honestly say you enjoy having one set of armor that looks like everyone else, just to get to 30.

It's not hard people
Because RNG is "earning" your gear. At least the OP is willing to add a component of actual work to get his prize. This original set up is find 4 or 5 people to carry you and then you getting lucky for the gear. Earned indeed.

  • Just goes to show everything in the game is not handed to you. Keep doing the raid on hard it's the only way you'll get it. Find someone on here with atheon at the end. I have 2 warlocks that I swap gear back and forth from so technicaly I have two 30s. But like I said keep working it's not just handed to us i have 2 of them after doing the right like 10947262638483 times

  • Does the helmet only drop from Atheon? Why find someone at Atheon and skip the other three loot chances?

  • More tiresome Raid-elitism. Is it so hard to grasp that some folks WILL NEVER GET TO DO THE RAID. EVER!? Be clear, I don't give a -blam!- about Raid gear. What the OP is suggesting, to me, offers the potential to hit 30 without the Raid. I don't need 'Raid' gear, I'd be happy with the ability to max light at 30 by tweaking gear I found elsewhere. If need be, gear advancement could be linked to patrons/strikes/whatever - as long as I'm NOT expected to PvP and the 'quests' have MM, I'm happy for them to be as hard as you like. I don't WANT IT EASY. I just want to be able to get to 30 WITHOUT EVER HAVING DONE THE RAID.

Saying that you need to beat the raid to get the best gear (level 30) is NOT elitism. If you can't beat the hardest content, you don't deserve the best gear. People who have the skill/time to beat the raid should be the only people to have the raid level gear. I haven't finished the raid yet, and I have no gear as a result. That's how it should be. I acknowledge that until I beat the raid, I don't deserve the gear. Your last sentence completely contradicts itself. Getting the gear without having done the raid IS HAVING IT EASY. Anything less than the raid IS EASY. Stop asking for the gear. Sit at level 28/29 and be content like everyone else who hasn't done the raid, or get your shit together and go get that gear. Don't expect Bungie to hand level 30 to you just because you can't raid.

  • You read my post, did you? How many times do I mention the fact that I DON'T WANT OR CARE ABOUT RAID GEAR. I don't advocate 'Getting the gear', you muppet. I want an alternative means of hitting 30, that's it. I'm talking about upgrading MY gear. As for 'getting my shit together', by this you mean adjust my life, give up my job, that sort of thing? Yeah, right. I said that I CAN'T raid, not that I can't be arsed or don't want to...FFS, read posts before commenting on them .

I'm not specifically talking about raid gear when I say 'the gear'. I should have written it better, but I'm talking about LEVEL 30 gear. The raid is where you get level 30 gear, that's how the game is designed, you aren't supposed to be level 30 without doing the raid. Subsequently, if you can't raid, like I said, you need to get your shit together (gaming wise, I'm not saying your life is shit or something) and do the raid to get the level 30 gear. Or, in your case where you've cleared up that you can't do the raid at all, you need to suck it up like so many other people have told you and stop thinking you deserve level 30 gear.

  • The only reason to be thirty is so you can do the raid if you dont wanna do it then you dont need 30 So 29 for you

  • Wrong way round - you currently can't get to 30 without doing the Raid

  • that makes no sense because in order to get to lvl 30 you have to complete the raid. some people just want to reach lvl 30 without having to go through the repetitiveness of completing the raid over and over again with only a slim chance of getting the armour you need.

  • The whole point of being lvl 30!is for hardmode. Not for a lazy. I dont wanna play the game but i feel entitled so i wanna be 30. You dont need to be thirty if you arent doing the raid. You already have a +1 for nightfall. So nah i think you should stop sooking about you cant get to thirty because "i dont wanna have to do the raid." Why do you need thirty if you arent gonna do hardmode. YOU SHALL NOT PASS!! Lvl 29 that is so suck it up you dont need a 30

  • Suck it up, my arse. I paid the same for this game as everyone else, but don't get the same content due to my RL situation? 'Tough shit, ST, if you can't do the Raid'? -blam!- that, if you consider that fair, you're clearly a simpleton. Not seeing the Raid is annoying enough, but not having an alternative way to hit 30 is -blam!-ing annoying and a glaring omission. What happened to Bungie's promise that lone-wolves would get to see and play the same content?

  • Maybe you have to wait to be a lone wolf but for now there is no reason for you to be lvl 30. So deal with it mate. 29 is enough and when dlc comes out you should be able to reach lvl 30 because then we will all be 32

  • Absolutely Agree with you man... people complaining coz they want it easy... so then, they could be 30 by killing Lv8 enemies on the Cosmodrome for hours by getting Motes of Light... in the meantime, people are putting effort on VoG haha :P no way that can happen xD

At least that ass hat shooting at a level 8 dreg is putting in work that that other guy did in 20 min by spamming the forum for a waypoint and a warlock group.
