Warlocks are the weakest class: do not play warlock (due to ARMOUR PERKS)

When you start playing Destiny, your best bet is to make titan or hunter. Warlocks always end up weaker, because the armor available to them is nowhere near as good as what other classes can equip. * For example, take the chest slot. My co-op buddy bought the Armamentarium titan chest armor from Xur at the weekend. This is clearly the most overpowered piece of gear in the game, and anyone can have it because Xur sells it: - Have TWO GRENADES!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Carry MORE ROCKETS!! - Carry countless extra sniper or shotgun rounds Why don't warlocks have anything like that? Nothing for that class comes even close. This makes the game severely unbalanced. Players who make a titan character instead of a warlock character have a substantial advantage in every situation. * Another obvious example is the boot slot. Why the lack of exotic boots for the lock class? Exotic boots are available for all classes, -- but not for warlocks! Why? This results in less armour choice for warlocks and a net lack of perks obtained from armour. Titans get exotic boots. Hunters get exotic boots. Warlocks were overlooked. Bungie clearly put a lot of thought into titans and hunters, but self-evidently overlooked warlocks resulting in numerous disadvantages and oversights facing the class which all need to be addressed at some point. I have checked all available armor for each class. It's confirmed: warlocks have the worst gear. I don't mind there being great armor for other classes. What I do mind is that there is nothing that comes close for locks. Destiny was supposed to be a game in which one class does not have an advantage over the others. That is not the case, mainly due to unbalanced gear. Forget the negligible 1% buff or nerf that Bungie applies to weapons.to improve balance. Look at the huge difference between gear available to different classes. I dearly hope Xur has Voidfang Vestments again this weekend. I didn't have enough coins for it the previous week, after buying Ice Breaker. I genuinely needed to buy IB when it was sold, because having played every day since day 1 I have literally never had any legendary or exotic weapon drops -- not even one! By comparison, my co-op buddy plays the same games as I do but and gets so much gear he has to shard it to clear space in his vault. Players who get drops don't know how lucky they are. When they switch weapons they are upgrading three weapons as they play. I have to waste kills on upgraded weapons until I save to buy a weapon from Xur or a Vendor. My co-op buddy doesn't usually buy charity handout gear from Xur, because he doesn't have to due to always getting drops, but I really do need it. EDIT: This is a post about the imbalance of GEAR between classes. Nascent class balance is a more complex issue beyond the scope of this thread. However, the classes are well balanced in this game. If that were not so Bungie would have addressed that before the minor weapon balancing that we are seeing.

    • Umm minus everything and think on the basic here. What the hell did you expect with a person who wears 80 to 20 percent armor to cloth? In comparison to someone who wears all armor? Also the exotic boots aren't even in the game yet. There is no Mk.44 stand aside for titans as there is no radiant dance machine.

    • Disagree, I do just fine as a warlock. We don't need crazy armor abilities as were like space mages. With blink I can teleport out of any dangerous situation, or right into somebody's face and let off a shotgun blast, finished off with a melee to regenerate all my health. We're plenty fine, I think you're just doing it wrong.

    • You're complaining about The Armamentarium giving another grenade, but overlook the fact that a Sunsinger perk gives you two? C'mon man, mix it up a bit, try out both subclasses. I rocked a Titan before converting to the warlock master class, and I requires a different play-style, but I've never felt like I was at a disadvantage overall against the other classes.

    • Warlocks r not the weakest. U have to strategize with the warlock to be good with it. So what, that they don't have exotic boots it's not like u can wear a full set of exotic armor. It hasn't even been half a year for the game. There is still more time for them to do stuff. There r too much problems they have to deal with

    • This guy has no idea what he's talking about. Sunsinger subclass lets you carry two grenades, no armor necessary. And it's the only class with self revive. Praxis fire allows you to carry more heavy and special ammo. The warlock has the best battle recovery, whereas the Titan has the most strength and the hunter the most agility. Take the hunter into hard mode raid and then the warlock, you will quickly see that the warlock has better survivability. The Titan does have the strongest armor (I.e. Highest toughness stats), but he is so slow.

    • Sunsinger's Gift of the Sun, combined with voidfang vestments allows you to have 2 grenades fully charged everytime you spawn. Thats combining both the Hunter and titan armor abilities...

      • Ya this is completely wrong. Every class has its own unique abilities geared from exotic armor. And having a titan and warlock both, warlocks are by far more overpowered. In PvE and PvP

      • I respect your opinion, but I would have to disagree. Exotic armor is meant to be unique and offer something special to it's respective wearer(class). Armamentarium fits the Titan in that it makes them an assault specialists. It also provides an incentive to use a Titan. If your argument is based on two grenades, then the Hunter would also need revised armor(lucky raspberry let's you carry two rockets, but you only spawn with grenade. It also restricts you to the arcbolt grenade) I also think Bungee should create a Crest of Alpha Lupi for Warlock as well since the Hunter and Titan have this exact same piece(im aware light beyond helmet offers faster revives) My point is every class should have armor that offers a unique way(or incentive) to play that class. Warlocks can still cause more destruction and chaos without Armamentarium than a Titan can with it. Like another poster stated you're mistaken variety with imbalance.

If you go on the nexus strike there is an area just before you jump down to the main boss were there are about 15 vex waiting for you. A warlock can clear all 15 vex with one nova bomb. The titan and especially the hunter could not do this? Not 100% sure on the Titan with the fist move but certainly not the hunter!!!!!!

              • Could you please rephrase your post a little bit. There are other ways to ask for an improvement that do not include asking for nerfs all around you. Like "hey I got a great idea for a new piece of gear that gives us warlocks this and that because I think we lack that". See? Pretty easy and it won't give Bungie any funny ideas.

                  • Aside from a few things some of the people have said, (some are correct and some seem to be opinionated) Destiny's foundation of character related roles and stats remind me a lot of Dungeons & Dragons (the original book and paper game). Your enemies are clearly modelled after traditional RPG roles so why not your role, too? Warlocks are your mages. Mages are supposed to be low armored but given the opportunity to reward the patient and smooth players. Hunters are your Rogue class. Quick low armor with higher agility and maximum damage output if patient and precise or a little more of an archer type with more armor and less agility. Titans are you warriors. Typical tank. That should be obvious. Im happy with how it turned out. My opinion may change once my warlock is fully leveled but, I've not found any reason to even remotely say they're an underpowered class. Just my opinion, though.

                      • Case and point. There are no exotic warlock boots even rumored to exist in the game. Titans and Hunters apparently do have them. OP post about balance points to the fact none of the exotic warlock gear give equal bonuses by comparison. Helm of Inmost Light gives you TWO free perks from your skill tree. The Armamentium essentially gives you a free perk from the sunsingers skill tree. Helm of Saint-14 makes your ward blind people. Meanwhile Heart of praxic fire is pretty awesome, but it's ability just slightly decreases recharge on grenades and melee skills while radiance is up. Sunbreakers? Increase grenade duration. Voidfang? Make the worst grenades in the voidwalkers arsenal marginally better. It just makes armor selection a little depressing.

                        • You should try radiance, I'm usually the guy who ends up destroying the bosses. Nothing like extra strength and six grenades. No single class is all powerful, any class can beat any class, depends on the player behind the controls.
