Warlocks are the weakest class: do not play warlock (due to ARMOUR PERKS)

[b]When you start playing Destiny, your best bet is to make titan or hunter. Warlocks always end up weaker, [u]because the armor available to them is nowhere near as good[/u] as what other classes can equip.[/b] * For example, take the chest slot. My co-op buddy bought the [url=http://destiny.wikia.com/wiki/The_Armamentarium]Armamentarium[/url] titan chest armor from Xur at the weekend. This is clearly the most overpowered piece of gear in the game, and anyone can have it because Xur sells it: - Have TWO GRENADES!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Carry MORE ROCKETS!! - Carry countless extra sniper or shotgun rounds [b]Why don't warlocks have anything like that? Nothing for that class comes even close. This makes the game severely unbalanced. Players who make a titan character instead of a warlock character have a substantial advantage in every situation.[/b] * Another obvious example is the boot slot. Why the lack of exotic boots for the lock class? [b][url=http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2hv5xl/here_are_all_the_exotic_armor_pieces_sorted_by/]Exotic boots are available for all classes, -- but not for warlocks![/url][/b] Why? This results in less armour choice for warlocks and a net lack of perks obtained from armour. Titans get exotic boots. Hunters get exotic boots. Warlocks were overlooked. Bungie clearly put a lot of thought into titans and hunters, but self-evidently overlooked warlocks resulting in numerous disadvantages and oversights facing the class which all need to be addressed at some point. I have checked all available armor for each class. It's confirmed: warlocks have the worst gear. I don't mind there being great armor for other classes. What I do mind is that there is nothing that comes close for locks. Destiny was supposed to be a game in which one class does not have an advantage over the others. That is not the case, mainly due to unbalanced gear. Forget the negligible 1% buff or nerf that Bungie applies to weapons.to improve balance. Look at the huge difference between gear available to different classes. I dearly hope Xur has [url=http://destiny.wikia.com/wiki/Voidfang_Vestments]Voidfang Vestments[/url] again this weekend. I didn't have enough coins for it the previous week, after buying Ice Breaker. I genuinely needed to buy IB when it was sold, because [url=http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/73153066/0/0]having played every day since day 1 I have literally never had any legendary or exotic weapon drops -- not even one[/url]! By comparison, my co-op buddy plays the same games as I do but and gets so much gear he has to shard it to clear space in his vault. Players who get drops don't know how lucky they are. When they switch weapons they are upgrading three weapons as they play. I have to waste kills on upgraded weapons until I save to buy a weapon from Xur or a Vendor. My co-op buddy doesn't usually buy charity handout gear from Xur, because he doesn't have to due to always getting drops, but I really do need it. EDIT:[b] This is a post about the imbalance of GEAR between classes. Nascent class balance is a more complex issue beyond the scope of this thread. [/b]However, the classes are well balanced in this game. If that were not so Bungie would have addressed that before the minor weapon balancing that we are seeing.

  • What do you expect? It's nearly impossible to make a game like this to where all classes, guns, armor, perks and stats are equal and are not better then the other, people have different things that they want and they will never be able to accomplish everyone's wants at the same time.

  • Actually you are quiet dumb.. I play as both warlock and titan and I much prefer my warlock over my titan. I can self revive in things like crucible. I revive much faster with light beyond nemesis. And I have a higher armor and recovery speed meaning I can take more hits and recover after killing them. You don't understand. Hunters have the lowest armor rating at first and Titans pfft. I kill those -blam!-ers like they're kangaroos and I've taken his head off.

    • If you're seriously suggesting the Warlock gets the worst Exotic gear in the game, then let's actually analyze the Exotic gear they get and the Exotic gear the other classes get. [b]Heart of the Praxic Fire[/b] While Radiance is active, all cooldowns are decreased [i]further[/i]. So, instead of a three second cooldown for Firebolt, Fusion, or Solar grenades, Sunsingers get even less time between chucking their grenades. This, in conjunction with Gift of the Sun, gives you a grenade every time your tossing animation ceases. [b]Obsidian Mind[/b] Nova Bomb kills reduce the cooldown time of your bext Nova Bomb. So, you drop your Nova Bomb on Zone C and get two kills which get you closer to your next Nova Bomb. [b]Claws of Ahamkara[/b] Get an additional charge for Scorch and Energy Drain. So, if you thought one Flame Shield wasn't enough for your Sunsinger, here's [i]another[/i] one for when your first goes down. You want to say that these pieces of Exotic gear are worse than the other classes'? Let's compare. [b]Armamentarium[/b] gives an additional grenade to Titans. Is that the power of Titan Exotics? I have to equip an Exotic just to have an additional grenade when Warlocks can select a perk and enjoy that same benefit? [b]Glasshouse[/b] extends the duration of Ward of Dawn's Blessing of Light and Weapons of Light by an additional five seconds. Thank goodness I have five seconds longer to stray from Ward of Dawn to do damage before running back to replenish my shield. [b]Ruin Wings[/b] increase the frequency of Heavy Ammo drops and their contents. I've played with people who report that the drops are so infrequent and inconsistent that they doubt their purchase was worth it. [b]Arachnid[/b] zooms in Golden Gun for better range and accuracy; a nice perk, but nothing Exotic. [b]Radiant Dance Machines[/b] quickens move speed whilst aiming down sights. Its utility is non-existent outside Crucible, and even in Crucible it's obsolete thanks to the game's missile-lock like aim assist. If you don't already see the huge advantages Warlocks get from this gear, I advise playing all of the classes thoroughly before posting your unsubstantiated complaints.

      • I would have to disagree with this post...I would say the warlock is the most overpowered class (I'm a Warlock). Our supers are op as hell I mean self-revive c'mon. As for the gear I can understand why they chose to give locks sucky gear to help balance the game and make the other classes more appealing.

          As a warlock sunsinger I fell that I am the most important member during nightfall and raid sure our super is not powerful but we makeup for it with self revive and the ability to regenerate orbs for our team. Our abilities makeup for our equipment that's how versatile our class is. But void walker need some love. Praise the sun sunbro......they need our jolly cooperation. Edit* Defender need a timer and a stronger bubble gunslinger need puff in golden gun dmg. and warlocks are fine we just need some love from Xûr.

          • Why warlocks aren't as bad as you say: 1) Fireborn (self revive). 2) Extra grenades without needing armour ability. 3) Very good melee. Doesn't need lunge. Capable of giving you shield upon hit (doesn't even require a kill). 4) Projectile fist of havoc, A.K.A. Nova bomb. 5) Used properly the sunsinger super can take out multiple guardians in PVP with ease. 6) Some of the best grenades without a doubt. Namely the firebolt, axion bolt, fusion and solars. 7) Contrary to many people's beliefs, I think voidfang vestments in PVP with double grenade make one of the best armour-ability combos around. 8) Crazy health regen rate. 9) Blink. A nuisance to play against in PVP. 10) All in all, can suit most peoples' playing style in both PVE and PVP.

              • Warlocks can already have 2 grenades without an exotic and the heart of praxic fire gives extra heavy so I'm not sure I understand your point. Plus warlocks can self revive....

                    • Warlocks are the best of the classes, and this is coming from someone who prefers Hunters and Titans. Titans are more focused on gear/weapons that give ammo and grenades and such, while Warlocks are meant to be the mages, of course. They get boosts to their magical stuff instead. You can't expect a mage to do as well as a warrior when it comes to weaponry and armor. You're basically complaining about variety here.
