Titans have a magnetic grenade that will definitely one hit kill if it sticks. My hunter has a fully upgraded thorn and it's the only primary I use in PVP. Poison and Final Round are nasty.

[i]If[/i] it sticks. Besides that's something both classes already have. The Thorn is outclassed in every way besides its ability to burn people.

It's up to preference. I love using the thorn so I play better when I use it. Stats aren't everything.

It's not though. Objectively the Thorn is trash compare to other handcannons. I want to like it but I can't when I have a gun that is better than it in every way.

Alright dude. I'm gonna keep on using and enjoying my thorn despite your opinion so I think it does have a lot to do with preference.

It doesn't. Preference is how much you like something over another. That has little to do with how good it actually is. I like the Thorn a lot and would love to use it if it wasn't so lackluster.

What I am suggesting is that stats don't matter if you really like the gun. I play better with my Thorn than I do with the Devil you Know because I just think the thorn is cooler and has more interesting perks, so I have more fun with it and this play better. That's what I mean by preference. I never really look to much at the stats of guns I'm more interested in quotes, perks, aesthetics. If it's a cool looking gun and I like the way it works then I'll use it over a gun that just has a higher stat.

Oh so you prefer looks over quality. I can't say I blame you, that's about the only reason I use the Thorn at all. Still, why should it be worse than a legendary anyone could buy?

I prefer the uniqueness of the Thorn, knowing the challenges I had to go through to get it and fully upgrade it. I also like the perks more than most other weapons. I just care more about qualities that aren't conveyed by a stat bar. If you prefer to use the devil that's fine it's a great gun. Exotics aren't designed to always be better than any other guns, they're just different and have unique perks. I just think trying to assert that it is "trash" is mixing up fact and opinion. My opinion is that the Thorn is a very powerful weapon, seeing as how I can get two shots into someone and then walk away and let the poison finish them off. Or that I can hit a shielded enemy and know that their shield won't return for even longer because they are still being damaged. I wouldn't be able to get an 11 KD in a control match using my Thorn if it was a trash weapon.

The problem is not whether the Thorn is bad but how bad it is compared to other handcannons. In the Crucible, all handcannons are equal making the Thorn absolutely terrible when most uncommon, rare, and legendary weapons have attributes that make it better than the Thorn. i.e: Larger mag, less recoil, better rate of fire, etc.
