[POLL] Change to Raid loot system!

After many attempts at the Raid on normal and hard I've come to the conclusion many of us have, and that is "Man I'm the most unlucky person in the history of the world." Fear not however I have a mind blowing idea that if implemented correctly would greatly enhance the desire for players to do, and complete the raid. Step 1: Completely remove Raid weapons/armor from the item pool and replace them with a Currency that I will call Kabr's Memory Fragments. (could be called anything related to the VoG really) Make it so that 1-3 are rewarded from completing segments of the raid on normal and 3-5 for Hard. Kabr's Memory Fragments would be guaranteed rewards so fear not. Chest take it or leave it could yield either Raid gear or Memory Fragments, haven't really put much thought into it since they can only be opened once per week regardless. Step 2: Add a vendor in town (I was personally thinking Kabr's Ghost) who will sell almost every piece of Raid gear minus things like the Vex Mythoclast and Sparrow/Shader/Ship/player accents. Step 3: profit! Gear cost would be scaled but similar to that of other vendors so gear doesn't seem like it would be an endless grind to try and obtain, as your average run would look something like Normal = 5-15 Hard = 15-25 fragments. Example; Any Raid Weapon = 25 Kabr's memory Fragments Raid Helmet = 30 Kabr's Memory Fragments Other Raid Armor = 15 Kabr's Memory Fragments What are your guys thoughts? Good idea? Bad Idea?   • Sounds like more handouts.... put gauranteed reward and people will just gimp it to get handouts. As is, the systems broke... theres enough lvl 28s due to them farming the queens items for shards early on...and more 29s after they started glitching atheon, and even more yet so...from loot caving. F this. Reduce the drop rate for rares... demote all exotics to legendary status.... and restart the loot rare/legendary/ exotic rate... These crybabies get enough handouts.

  • Kind of wish Bungie would just adopt Reaper of Souls, Realm Reborn, Borderlands 2, or WoW's loot system. Honestly, any system but their own.

    I like the loot-master idea from WoW. Sometimes I get an item I don't really care for, and someone else gets the item I want. Would be nice if the Fireteam leader could assign the loot from the chests or boss kills to whichever player wanted / needed it more. Maybe instead of an actual armor piece, it would be an engram that would be the class of whoever Identified it, making it easier to assign loot to whoever. Weapons could be either as is (ID'd already) or an engram that people could then take to the Cryptarch for a chance at what they want. This way, if you take someone that needs more than others in the raid, you don't have to assign loot to the ones that are already fully or almost completely geared out, especially if the dropped engrams are not for the slots they needed. I also noticed that I almost always (like 99% of the time) get Ascended Shards, never energy, and other people get nothing but Energy, and no Shards. Maybe Xur could start offering to swap them for people so they could get the mats they need instead of having half upgraded crap they can't finish...

    • I like the idea. But what about the upcoming Raids? Would that be somewhat similar to these tokens with your idea, or something a little more? I know there's Tier 1 raid armor which is obviously from the Raid on Normal and Tier 2 for Hard Raid.

        Isn't this what most MMO's do, anyway? It's also not nearly as good as the actual drops from major bosses. I would also equate the strange coins to what most MMO's call 'marks'. If this was implemented, which I doubt it would ever be until a sequel, then they would have to increase the stats on the raid gear itself, to make normal purple drops not be as good as mark-acquired purples. This would also completely unbalance PvE, and then there would be hotfixes to address this, then coding errors due to hotfixes not being tested extensively, [b]AND NOW LOOK AT THE MESS YOU MADE, MRFUDDYDUDDY![/b] I hope you can live with yourself.

        • good idea but this is not what "bungie" had in mind when they made the raid. what bungie wants the raid to be is a cluster-blam!- that no one know what they are doing when they get teleported. then once you complete the raid they want to reward you with a shitbrown ship that adds nothing to the game.

        • What is even the point of giving you a sparrow with a high chance to blow your balls off because it can explode, a loading screen and a shader you already have for the most difficult content in the game. I don't feel rewarded getting this crap, I feel insulted. Who even makes a vehicle with the potential to kill you rather than doing its job as a vehicle!? Moving on. I think ascended shards and energy should be a guaranteed reward to complement gear or weapons. These should constitute the loot table for the raid. I believe your point system would be perfect for aesthetic items like the mark, bond or cape. Hell maybe some people actually want the ballbreaker or loading screen and can buy these with the points. With regards to future raids, same deal. Gear and weapons from the raid itself, points to buy fluff you may like to have, but would hate to get instead of gear or weapons.

        • I think this takes the fun out of the raid. It is frustrating sometimes to not get the loot u want but it makes it that much better when you finally do. On top of that it kind of ruins the importance of diving into the Vault if the armor was just sold at the tower the entire time.

          • I did the raid on hard last night and the final loot was atheon's epilogue and a -blam!-ing SPACE SHIP which is a loading screen. Plus I already have the atheon's epilogue. I literally got jack shit. I've been through the raid every week. Normal and hard and not a single piece of raid gear has popped up.

            • This is exactly the same system as any MMORPG. I don't care if it's a new token or using Motes of Light (they're pretty useless right now let's be honest) but I believe something should be done. If you need to be 30 to run VoG on hard mode the only way to beat RNG currently is to either be lucky or make multiple characters of the same class, which is a pretty silly system and I don't think the current system is working as intended.

            • I managed to get the boots and chest piece on my first complete run through, but I still agree with this. The idea that you complete the hardest thing in the game and could come away with nothing is crazy. I think you should get at least one guaranteed reward for completing it. Something of use too, I'm not talking about a shader (who wants that)

              • They should have more raid sets like 3 per class , there for you have a better chance at getting loot but it might not be a matching set.

              • RNG is ok but i -blam!-ing loose it when i play the raid 4 times a week and get nothing and see a lvl 30 with mythoclast and a statistic of 2 or 3 finished raids.

                • It's fine the way it is, the only thing I think should change is how many times you can get hard mode loot. Maybe like 2 or 3 times a week instead of 1. Just a thought.

                  • Ithis needs to be changed, i got one sniper rifle, one shotgun, 2 hunter capes, one warlock bond and loads of ascendant energy, not even one shard, red death, and the last word, i have not got a single piece of armor, you should at least be guaranteed one piece of armor per raid as you only get rewards once per week on a character,

However it would require work therefore Bungie wouldn't agree to this. Also in the very small off chance they would, Activision would order them to supply it as paid DLC to leech whatever profits they can and therefore screw you even further. Great idea though.
