I believe every one's opinion differs based on their team dynamic. If you play with the same people every week, I can see why its upsetting, having the designated shield user, oracle killer, etc.

I play with different people almost every week, i do both side of the portal, that is beside the point doe.

Of course, everyone's situation is different. But for the raiders comitted to the same 5 people each week, this is absolutely unfair.

But surely if a team of the same people do the raid regularly they will all be competent enough to do every role? If not, the team will be improved by everyone being capable of doing every job. Like the Dutch 70's soccer team's philosophy of Total football where every player was expected to be comfortable and competent in every position

Its like making your running back your defensive lineman, or your point guard your center. Everyone has their job on a team and switching it up is just confusing.

Not really. I can appreciate how you've all done certain roles up to now and become comfortable with your allocated jobs. However, I'm sure your regular raid squad will cope just fine... and become better raiders for it :) And, perhaps my opinion would be more valid if I'd actually raided ;)
