They lied to us. This game isn't for PvE players.
PvP plan for Destiny:
-unlimited repetitive play
-regular events with limited time game modes
-constant patches to address PvP balance
-additional maps with paid dlc
PvE plan for Destiny:
-unlimited repetitive play
-occasional events that offer nothing new for PvE
-constant patches that address PvP balance without paying attention to effect on PvE
-a small amount of content for ~$20 every few months
Just leaves a bad taste in your mouth...
