I know people are going to be against this, especially with everyone screaming nerf this & nerf that but I feel we're missing class uniqueness weapon wise. I feel we should have certain weapons that make our class stand out from the rest. What's your thoughts?

No. I like that weapons aren't class based.

If they found a way to do this without touching the current weapon subclasses I think this would tremendously better each class. In fact I feel like it would be rather simple from a design perspective. Hunter: Bow/Crossbow - I think these could be coupled with the three damage elements of the game to bring more focus to those damage types. Have the perks focus solely on elemental damage, like maybe an elemental creep or damage boost or stun or what have you. As for legitimate weapon mechanics, I think it could work similar to the bow in Crysis, dealing high single shot damage with a slow rate of fire. The crossbow would function more like a nailgun and less like a cross bow, firing automatic bolts but dealing leas damage. Warlock: SMG/ Dual Pistols - would function almost exactly like the SMG and Dual Pistols in Halo. I could perhaps see a mechanic where it works more like the Plasma Rifle and has a charge time, and the ammo actually comes from the Warlocks magical power. Have perks reward kills in succession with higher damage, or a damage multiplier based on shots landed. Titan: Mini-Gat/Grenade Launcher - so I am thinking this would work similar to Halo's turrets. When using the Mini-Gatling or Grenade Launcher your character's maneuverability would be cut severely. Perks would be defensive rather than offensive, providing a defense buff for number of shots fired or players killed, compensating for being extremely vulnerable. These are just a few ideas, but there is really potential for a bunch of.unique weapons for each class, and Bungie would be missing out if they didn't expand on the class system in some way.

Bumpity bump bump

I think more class specific perks and items in general are needed. There's very little difference between the classes, I wouldn't mind if they were more unique.

Cool idea, but not likely

They do have one it's called " golden gun"

Bungie wont i agree it could have its perks no doubt but bungie wants things as balanced as possible which i enjoy about destiny "no one answer" Also ppl would cry and all guns would be available to everyone after a month then its all just wasted dev time

Ok, you can't start a topic with "You know what's missing?". It's going to be 1500 pages long.

Yes! Warlocks can have a wand. Lol.
-
Bump! Especially the hunter crossbow
-
I would like to see that!

Hell yeah, BUMP!

Or get bonus perk for that specific weapon maybe

Agreed on all points. Only issue I see is people complaining that their legendary engram turned out to be a weapon they can't use

This would be great. What about special melee weapons? Like big ass gauntlets for Titans. Lightsabers for Hunters. And maybe like electric whips for Warlocks?

I personally love games that allow you to use any weapon. I've always felt that class specific weapons ruin and limit character personalization and diversity. I would say that supers are our class weapons and it shouldn't go beyond that. The idea that you can't use a weapon because you're not wearing the proper outfit turns me away from certain RPGs. I used to love the original Diablo because you could pick up anything and use it. When 3 came out I instantly lost interest when I learned you were restricted to a weapon class. I understand it wouldn't be limiting to that level in Destiny, but it would be limiting none the less. And imagine the hurricane of balance complaints that would follow.

I think it would be bad for the game. Currently you have freedom to choose whatever weapon type you like. With class weapons they would either need to be watered down to being irrelevant, or they would risk pushing classes to that weapon regardless of if people want to use it or not. So while I like the concept I just don't think it would be good for the game.
