You contradict yourself here-
Take notice that when you die in a mission it says "darkness has consumed you," or something of the like. Once your light is extinguished, you die. I do not understand why people can't make sense of this, no light, no life; the ghost can't bring you back to life.

Your character is resurrected because (s)he retains light, so the ghost can bring you back from the dead.
So, which is it then? Because if I die in a darkness zone, I should be dead because my light has been extinguished according to you- but I am not dead because I still retain the light, according to you...

"The darkness has consumed you" is just like any game over screen. It's there to let you know your character died. When you're in a full team, your ghost sits there holding onto your light until you can be revived. Otherwise your teammates would have to interact with your body.
-
No I didn't, I also said that this mechanic is ignored for playability, I made sure to throw that tidbit in there. If it wasn't you'd have to reroll a new guardian at least once a week, maybe even once a day.
-
Yet you state that there are no plot holes, telling people who say there is to shut up and pay attention to detail- you defend this statement by pointing out a game mechanic that contradicts the lore, say that it does so in the interest of playability, but you feel that this doesnt create any disconnect from the lore/story of the universe...and you do not sit there until a teammate revives you- if a teammate revives you (why a teammate by the way, if my ghost can harness the light he should do it, if my light is gone a teammate cannot revive me), if you wait long enough you just respawn on your own, without a teammate- again, these mechanics contradict themselves and I am confused as to how you can treat the people who say so like they are idiots
-
You die in a darkness zone, your light isn't gone, it just isn't strong enough to illuminate (rez) you. That's why you come back outside the zone (I.e progress is not saved); you have enough light to bring back, but your ghost can't do it in the darkness.
-
So he resurrects and translocates you- so why did the little jerk resurrect me right in the middle of a battle with the Fallen- why not resurrect me somewhere safe and send a call out for someone to pick us up?
-
And the ghost can revive you, but for sake of team work, a team mate is needed to revive you in the darkness zones. Darkness zones are where you actually see the "game over" screen... That should also tell you something.
-
Not calling them idiots, just telling them to shut up about the whole thing. It is a mechanic in the game, but in lore, your character is gone and died, your are not a part of those 62. A story plot does not dictate a necessary mechanic for playability. I get the feeling you're looking for a reason, any reason, to prove me wrong. If that be the case you probably just decided anyone with an idea different from your own is wrong, which I'm sorry to hear.
-
Actually- the whole flavor of your OP is to prove others wrong because they do not agree with you- anyhow, all I am saying is your are defending your claim of there not being a plot hole by citing a plot hole- if I have the light within me, even when I die, my ghost should be able to revive me- if my ghost cannot revive me, because my light is gone (in the darkness zone), how can a teammate revive me? It does not make sense, period. *Just because we are discussing this does not mean I am "looking for any reason" to prove you wrong- I have only used the one argument, so how is that "looking for any reason"?- I only have the one...
-
I'm not saying there are no plot holes, every story has plot holes. What I'm saying is that this is not one of them. In the darkness zone your allies are still pushing back the darkness, thus you have a slimmer of hope, but when you and your allies fall the darkness consumes you, you become part of the 62.
-
If you die in Halo CE then Halo 2 and 3 don't exist. Plot hole!
-
It's funny because halo was supposed to end after 3.
-
Your ghost brings back the light to you after you lose it by being consumed by the darkness. That's what I got from his post lol
-
The ghost are a part of you and retain light for you, they are connected to you... So... You're kind of on point. The "dead ghost" had light drained from them... That means 62 guardians are also dead. They have no light left in them, all you're doing is collecting the information inside them. Without light you'd be in the same boat.
-
Light stops the darkness from consuming you. You don't need light to be alive technically. Look at the civilians. They aren't guardians but are still alive
-
True, but they aren't guardians. The guardians are resurrected beings according to what Bungie said before the games release. So I'm assuming that dying either brings the light to fruition, or maybe certain people are born with light but need to die in order to become guardians.
-
Guardians are forged in light. But what I don't get is if I was dead for a long time how do I just pop up out of the grave as a healthy guardian lol
-
I admit that I am unsure as to how guardians are chosen, but maybe bungie will reveal that at some point.
