No. Realistically you wouldn't be able to effectively dual wield pistols (especially Hand Cannons), that is purely movie/game bs. 1. The recoil is strong even with a proper two-handed grip. -There is no way you'd be able to dual wield and be able to use them with one hand much less be accurate with both (especially at the same time). Hand Cannons are Heavy Revolvers, repeatedly using these types of weapons can easily injure your wrists especially if they are being misused. They are NOT meant to be used with one hand. You will not see game hunters using only one hand to aim and fire something like a friggin Casull. http://picturearchive.gunauction.com/1750144520/11400253/DSC_22641.JPG 2. Maintaining a good grouping would be very difficult if not impossible. -This is a gun with a heavy amount of recoil. These guns are ALWAYS used with two hands, at the rate we can fire them in game if you try to run them with only one hand at the fastest rate possible you'll likely miss all your shots unless you were very close range or if it was a Cabal. Your accuracy (especially if you weren't ambidextrous) would go down the toilet with regular guns and would get even worse with the heavy Handcannon. 3. Reloading would be difficult. -Since Handcannons are Revolvers they are reloaded via a cylinder rather than a magazine. In game we use Speedloaders to reload our guns....you need both hands for that. When you use both your Handcannons (whether simultaneously or by alternating fire) you'll run out with both then it'll take a good long while before they are loaded and ready to go. If you use only one at a time then you might as well either just run with one so that its reload is less or just keep the second one holstered until use. When you reload using a speedloader you will need on hand to flick out the cylinder and hold the weapon and the other will be using the loader. You can't do that while its occupied by another weapon. You could not dual wield something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APv0U_XaK_E And that is a Hand Cannon and there is NO WAY you would be able to use two of those at the same time without injury or just plain not hitting anything.... Edit: Its personal preference but dual wielding handguns its kind of old....it looks cool for a few minutes but it seems like a number of games and movies love to do this and it just is kinda meh to me.

How about an exotic hand cannon that has the perk "Double Trouble" = this gun comes in pairs, with a hidden special perk and "no backpack" = reloads via battery(icebreaker/invective style) but has obvious limits to its awesomeness? ADS lets you put the guns back to back crossed over each other. As it's always unlocked perk

  • No offense good guardian, but we're not talking about reality here.. It's a game, bungie or any game maker can do what they like..
this is merely movie/game bs
We know, that's why we want it in our game Also, this game has space wizards, moon magic, warp speed, teleporting robots, fusion rifles, and you want to nitpick on recoil?

Reality or video games? You need to chose as you can't have both.

  • *Sigh* I knew this was coming the great old argument of "but its a video game and anything can happen in video games". This would technically be physically impossible for characters to be able to do this (possible exception being an Exo).

  • Did I say 'anything can happen'? No, I didn't. Don't infer random BS into what I said. I said choose between reality and video games. You literally can't have both.

  • So you can't have some realism in games? In reality you can't dual wield pistols, especially not those kind. In video games you shouldn't be able to.

By that logic you shouldn't be ablento shoot space magic out of your fingers and disinigrate a crowd of people. Jump 3 times without touching the ground. Teleport. Summon a magical flaming pistol that explodes it's victims. Sorry but your argument is invalid. If they were going for realism in this game ok but they are clearly NOT.

  • Again you infer nonsense, I said reality not realism, for the love of God, learn to read. You stated all the real world applications of dual wielding, you are the one that is using reality (not realism). Please stop inferring all kinds of random nonsense.
Realism - the quality or fact of representing a person, thing, or situation accurately or in a way that is true to life. Reality - the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them. In the case of realism: not being able to dual wield in game would be a representation of the fact that its impossible in real life. In the game the Hand Cannon is a cylinder loaded, high recoil, high impact weapon (meaning it packs a punch when it hits a target). If you were to apply realism to the way the in-game weapon works then you physically wouldn't be able to dual wield these guns effectively; the realism would be that the game is representing the situation of dual wielding impossible because it is true to life.
Boil down to base game mechanics the ability to reload would make dual wielding impossible since Hand Cannons are cylinder loaded weapons and you cannot equip any primary weapons into the secondary slot. Only way to make it possible is if you were change the guns to have magazines instead of cylinders then it'd be technically possible To have a Hand Cannon in the secondary slot then they'd have to do something special. It'd either have to be labeled to note its a secondary slot only type, Hand Cannons be allowed as both primaries and secondaries, have only one Hand Cannon (like how the Mythoclast is a primary Fusion Rifle and is the only one of its kin) or revamp the loadout system to make Hand Cannons a secondary weapon rather than a primary. My point being that no Destiny should not have dual wielding due to the way the guns are set up. Realistically its not possible and game mechanics wise there are limitations that prevent it from being possible.

  • If we were in reality wouldn't that make our jumping not real. Our specials. How about all of our melees. Im not sure but I don't think we could easily run around with rocket launchers and go on sprees. You are arguing for realism? So they need to take out supers. Jumping off cliffs and landing after you jump mid air. Hell even jumping. Umm most of this game would be gone.

Not entirely correct. If Bungie were to add duel wielding with hand cannons there would be no harm in adapting the guns for those manoeuvres to be pulled off. After all this is fiction, not fact. However, in your fictional world, it's not possible, I shall let you have that, if you agree to our world too. Edit: if John 117 can pull it off so can my Titan in his tin can suit. Oh day old, sorry.

  • So you picked video games, ok, good to know you left reality out of it, you're learning at least.

  • The reason for the sigh is whenever something like dual wielding is brought up in a game the argument is almost always made that since its a video game anything can happen or that the characters can already do something that should be impossible so why not dual wielding. I'm curious how you even remotely arrived at the conclusion.
