  • Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of the dark souls series. I enjoy the challenge and the feeling of accomplishment that goes along with that. Now I run the VoG with a solid team, everyone knows what to do when with minimal communication. We enjoy playing together and the challenges of the raid. That being said we are mostly a group of people who try to play as efficient as possible. The addition of the random port of people in the last boss fight will make it much more entertaining. Now i know some people do not like this but guess what this content is suppose to be hard and require good communication. With this adjustment it will force your party to adapt or die. Now some people out there feel that they should be able to do every piece of content a game offers, even if they are inadequate (bad, not good) in skill. To this i say you are wrong. Not everyone can be at the top, look up the bell curve. This change will separate the men from the boys. If you cannot beat the raid i implore you to adapt and learn not complain and groan. Many of us skilled players do not mind showing or helping others learn the stats of the raid; however, this does not mean we will carry you. Pull your own weight or go play something else. At the end of the day this is Bungies game and their vision of the difficulty and challenge is what matters not our own.

  • The random teleporting is going to absolutely suck in hard mode. I'm usually on portal defense, and this is just going make things that much more complicated. It's bad enough that the checkpoint before the atheon fight throws godlike praetorians/minotaurs at everyone throughout the entire ordeal. Hey Bungie, how's about you address that particular issue, instead of further complicating an already -blam!-ed situation? You know, the one where a fully leveled up "vex killer" weapon is about the equivalent of shooting a .22 at body armor. For -blam!-'s sake.

  • the vault of glass from an rpg stand point isnt that hard.i can remember spending weeks with eight people on a team on some fights in final fantasy games.our clan beat the vault in a matter of hours on our first attempt.this change will be a learning curve then easy peasy again.the real frustrating part is watching bungie react to rpg gamers.they patched the loot cave because it didnt fit in with their vision and dream of what destiny should be.rpgers love a good grind spot.bungie seemed insulted by the loot cave.ther reason for shuting it down should be to stop players from climbing the ladder to fast and becoming op,not because we interfeared with ''youre vision''.peoples actions reveal how much they dont know.stick to shooters bungie sub out the rpg part.cheers!!!!

  • "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" which makes me wonder why a company would want to continue to dip it's toes into the cesspool of anger by 'fixing' things that the players never knew were broken. either they feel the need to artificially extend the life of their game, or they are prideful and can't leave well enough alone. let the game evolve and grow with your players, not against them.

  • Raid was the first thing I ever actually thought about strategically in this game, and only, other than the Nightfall I was able to complete this entire game by shotgun-punching everything that wasn't twice my height, and mindlessly pumping bullets and explosives into the things that were. As a result of these strategies, my fire team has gotten deadly efficient at the Atheon fight - earlier today we beat him in 4 portal cycles. To throw a wrench into this fluid machine that the raid has turned us - and many players as well - into would severely detract from what is easily the only completely interesting thing left to do in this game. I'm supposed to be finding the Chamber of Night right now. However, forcing my Warlock to learn the art of patience so I could leisurely type this was a lot more interesting.

  • Indeed. The other fix they need to implement is gear actually dropping. In two raids all I've gotten was Materials, a shader, and a ship engram. Seriously? I put in 6 hours in two raids and all I come away with is a ship and colors? Bungie and Activision really need to re-assess their priorities.

    • It seems hard mode is getting even more crazy (Jesus Christ the Harpy spawn rate on the Templar is insane). Thankfully I have already gotten all the hard mode exclusive drops.

      I just found it humorous that a mechanic that has been in the fight since it debuted in September is now a "bug" or whatever. I'm not talking about knocking Atheon off the edge, though that really shouldn't have been possible to begin with if it wasn't intended. But he has always selected the three players in the very back of the chamber. Why change it now? Why not chalk this up as a lesson learned and not -blam!- up the next raid? I can perform either role quite well - put me outside the portals or tell me to go inside - but this is a baffling change. And for those who feel the need to bring up other games that tweak raid instances: There's a big difference between fixing actual bugs and slapping a "bug" tag to a mechanic that has been present for weeks now.

    • At this point I think that Bungie is starting to unravel and Destiny is beginning to fall apart. I feel that the developers have realized the complete lack of content in the current game and now also realize that they can't stretch things to make it to the December DLC. The Dark Below should have been day one DLC.

        this is completely ridiculous. they patch the game because people exploit it and claim it's not how they wanted the game to be played, NOW they're telling us that we can't play the game the way its intended to be played... strategically.. which is it bungie? do you want us to play [b][i][u]strategically and cooperatively[/b][/i][/u] , or just the way that [b]YOU[/b] want us to play it? i think it's BS you're doing this to your players. go ahead and patch it, you'll eventually have teams of strictly warlocks working together to push Atheon off. (((next thing you know they'll patch [b]THAT[/b] so that you can only have certain amounts of certain classes lol)))

        this patch will make [b]Flawless Raider[/b] near impossible unless everyone grinds the balls out of the vault this week before this happens (([i]myself included[/i]))) and what will you tell the community that doesn't already have this trophy when they complain? "[i]find a fireteam of 6 people that are lvl 30 and good at [b]everything[/b] so when you randomly get thrown places you can maybe beat it. if not, just get better at the game and stop bitchin[/i]"

        • To all you saying "you need to adapt in the raid or you don't deserve to beat it". Adaptation is what happens when a plan falls apart. Apparently bungies plan to make this game last also fell apart.

              Bungie is like that Dungeon Master that gets angry you solved their "hard" campaign. So now they're changing the rules on the fly to make them feel better about themselves.

              • So, players complain that endgame raid mechanics are too scripted and predictable. Bungie adds an element of randomness and... players complain that endgame raid mechanics aren't scripted and predictable. What a completely predictable example of human nature.

                • Got to hand it to ya. You make it seem like your right and I agree with you and am dreading the patch but they may as well add it and make everyone use the same weapons and powers they already did it with the raid gear being the only way to hit lvl 30 anyway so EVERYONE RAID GEAR AND CHATTERWHITE
