I have not complained about any changes to this game. - Loot Cave - okay, patch it (and you gave us a fun Easter Egg at that). - Gun nerfs/buffs - you guys know best, you can watch how we play and address what's needed to provide multiple alternatives with weapon selection in PVP. - Templar column - Even though I backed this as a "strategy", I only tried to help *one* group that insisted on it and my group has always had dedicated roles in that fight. We played the ground game and continue to do so, we're better and faster at it. - Atheon "baby bumpers" - Yes, please. They're not necessary when you have a good team who play well together and know roles that we have unanimously determined by preference and vote. I didn't support the bug that broke him. - Atheon's teleport behavior? - Please, Bungie, please. Most successful Raid teams have found that different members are better at different roles. This is a TEAM event. I, for one, am the dedicated Relic-holder for that fight. We've watched gameplay mechanics, we developed a system, a strategy, to break our group into two. Portal team does what needs to be done in the portals, and Gatekeeper team survives the hordes of suicidal Harpies, opens the necessary gate, and generally does the most damage to Atheon once Portal team is out, because we're busy getting ready to go back in again. The Atheon teleport change will break not only our strategy, but most successful teams' strategies. The fight will be utter chaos. Not everyone plays the same role in a team - that's what makes a TEAM. If we could all perform the same roles, we'd be interchangeable. Why stay together? Our group dynamics are great and we all get along well, but the glitches in Atheon's fight were tough enough to get through without someone raging. The deaths of a single dedicated member alone can make the fight unwinnable. We are using legitimate strategy there, Bungie. There is no unfair advantage, no taking advantage of unfair enemy behavior (some predictability is not a bad thing!), we just got our team 100% set this week! Not everyone can be expected to perform the same in a team. We all have strengths and weaknesses and that is part of what brings us together. We fill in each other's gaps in playstyle to complete the group. Please rethink this Atheon patch. "Baby bumpers" are great. Make the community fight for their victory! But don't completely trash mechanics that aren't broken. I know six of me could not beat this Raid, nor could six of any other gamer I know. Level playing fields are great, but don't take away our individual strengths. Sorry for the long post. I will be reposting this in the Feedback forum where it belongs, as I've asked others who post in the #destiny category. I've always supported you guys and plan on continuing to... Don't break the Raid, please! Edit: Providing a link to the Feedback thread, as requested. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/73650422

  • Yea don't change the encounter this drastically. That is plain rediculous Bungie! I think you are just mad that so many people have beaten your raid. And you didn't have any new content prepared. Don't punish new players just because you failed.

  •
The Atheon teleport change will break not only our strategy, but most successful teams' strategies.
This is exactly what Bungie wants to do. Their intent is to disrupt the current mechanics of the game. Too many players are learning the strategies and skills needed to finish the Raid. Bungie never intended the raid to be completed by a single team in less than two hours.

  • a group of bungie devs beat the the raid in 48 mins before the game came out. I think you need to research this stuff first before making a comment.

  • Oh the Developers beat the Raid in 48 mins..... So the folks that built the game beat it that fast....... The ones that can build any class and just give themselves any equipment with any or all upgrades, beat the Raid in 48 min...... You're a genius. <------------------(sarcasm really high amounts of sarcasm)

  • funny bungie had a group of hardcore gamer vets that were the same level and had similar gear to their group and it took them 16 hours to beat the raid. This was also before release. Again Research before commenting.

  • So these mythical "hardcore gamer vets" had "similar gear" not the same gear but similar. These Vets have any clue about what was required to complete the raid? How to perform in the battles, what weaknesses the enemies had? I take back the genius comment, you're a moron. You do so much research? Start backing it up with some proof. Better still stop replying to others on the forum as you are less than a waste of time.

  • Ok now you make it sound like the bungie devs all had mythos all sporting raid Armour and shoot laser beams out of there eyes and how long do you think a regular group of players can beat the vault with out knowing what to do and how to handle it. When me and my friends started the raid for the first time we had on idea what to do. We were like a bunch of chickens with there heads cut off. All im sayings is bungie had the knowledge and gear to complete the raid in 48 mins compared to the vets who had no idea what to do.

  • With no time during my busy schedule, I rely on strategy… If they randomly teleport me from what I was doing, and I just so happen to be running, I could end up running into an enemy I have no way of beating. Die and end up costing the TEAM a victory… It makes it helpful knowing the people in the back of the room will go while I stay, because being a DoD charlie member I have to focus more on my baby. People are supposed to learn the game, and then tell others, it's a game. With the lack of communication to talk with others in-game, making a Team with similar strategies is difficult. Thus having a basic strategy (which still can fail) is needed when going up against giant bullet sponges.

  • He's right there's no reason why this needs to change. There's a difference between strategy and completely taking advantage of bugs.

  • Perfect post. Bungie don't do this! Such a bad idea. Instead give us more content, and make it more challenging? There's a thought.

  • This is the best, most well-thought post I have yet to see. I don't comment much, but I want you to know that this is simply fantastic and that you're voicing the opinion of thousands of gamers. I sincerely hope DeeJ reads this, because role specialization is not a feature that needs to change. Personally, I'm terrible with the relic. I either stay on the outside, because my Bladedancer's invisibility makes me highly effective at thinning the supplicants' numbers, or I take out the oracles on the inside with my Gunslinger. Having a group on the inside without a single experienced relic-holder would be disastrous and, as you say, would lead to rage-quitters and the premature end of the raid for all of us.

  • I could not agree more with your post. I too am the designated relic holder for my team. It's took us hours to find who belongs where during the atheon fight and just like you we've just now got it down. Just because we have figured out a way to overcome a challenge in your game does not mean you have to add random bits of chaos to make it more difficult. In terms of communication my team has just gotten to the point where everyone is no longer yelling for help or asking what portal. Adding in this element of randomness will cause an immense amount of chaos and frustration among teams (including mine) and I can only speculate how it will impact the raid on hard.

  • I'm not looking forward to this....in fact I resent it!!! It's going to ruin the raid and take the strategy and fun out of it, and just turn out to be reptile like tge rest of the game... The thought of random teleporter gives me shudders, and already wanting to kill someone when hitting max rage at atheon telepooring or your mates dropping like flys continuously!!! You know what! I bet they still do it! I miss the cave btw somthing to relax to for a change from those -blam!-ing strikes. I want to kick my tele in when I get a venus piriest one now, and that over grown tosser on Mars, and those three -blam!-ing psion dwarfs, and that giant -blam!-ing eye sekion... I've had enough I've done it so many times I'm being to hate it! And now the raid is Gona be rage inducing!? I'm now resorting to using the destiny public event timer to actually look for somthing different and go on the hunt for those -blam!-ing shards... It's the best thing so far about destiny to be fair rite now.

yeah i thought Bungie said we'd like you to play destiny your own way and not make it so we FORCED to do it the way they want. Fair enough with Atheon not getting knocked of the edge but not being able to get on the pillars Templar come on now Bungie
