I would like the fact that you would be able to gather weapons parts by finding it or by dismantling weapons (random based weapon parts) and that you can give that to the gunsmith to make you a weapon (which would take time... 24hr countdown timer). Based on the rarity of your weapon parts he could tell you already what class it would become rare, legendary or even exotic (mind you that exotic weapon parts would be hard to find). But, at least you would already know if you might get a legendary or an exotic before you decide to wait for 24hrs :p

  • Or perhaps leave the weapon parts in their class; rare weapons produce rare weapons parts, legendary weapons produce legendary weapon parts and exotics produce exotic weapon parts. Say you need in between 20-50 weapon parts of that particular class of weapon type, too buy an engram of that type. Or perhaps like said in this thread, the occasional rare/legendary/exotic would drop in the gunsmiths line of sale, and you would in turn use those weapon parts to buy that guarenteed item from him, as such reducing the chance of frustration from getting an item you dont want from an engram. I personally like the engram way better, but both are great ideas and would give the gunsmith a huge role (i think) in the end game. Thoughts?
