atheism is actually considered a religion by the US court system

The U.S. Court System cannot respect the establishment of religion. It is considered a belief system, and I want you to define religion and define atheism in your own words.

The US court system has ruled that atheism is a religion. Now, whether you consider that "respecting the establishment of religion" or not...I couldn't say. I am just pointing out what has happened in a number of districts around the country, that's all. As far as defining religion in my own words, (and of course there couldn't be a wrong answer as you are asking for my opinion on the matter). But I would define religion, and/or atheism for that matter, most broadly as a system of beliefs which attempts to articulate the supernatural. Religion is broken down into so many different sects that there are, of course, a number of sub-definitions beyond that. Specifically with atheism I like Christopher Hitchens definition which is something like, "the belief that their is no evidence to support god's existence."

Atheism is the rejection of a reason to accept the supernatural as probable or even possible. And every single in-group of people has different sects. As a very relevant argument, because a a Guardian you can be a Titan, Hunter, or Warlock, does that make Destiny a religion?
