That is some great testing you have done. I feel a bit more informed about bee, and more importantly not alone. Like others in this topic the frequency of the bee error seems to coincide with the number of people around me. It can and will happen anywhere. It mostly happens while in the Tower or in the Crucible. Like you 3v3 or Rumble (6 person free for all) will work just fine. But throw me in a 6v6 or an up to 16 people per instance tower and it will attract the bees. I usually go to the roster tab and see how many people are in the tower while my ship is landing to see how likely it is I will get the bee. Curiously enough sometimes even with a full town I will stay connected, although if I stay in town too long I will bee out. Sometimes I get "Contacting Destiny servers" message and sometimes I don't. When I do I notice a bit of lag in the town when turning in bounties or doing some other form of exchange with NPCs. (I will bee out, but still get my items and rep after I am in orbit) It also can happen to me while on patrol, a strike, or story mission. Sometimes the game puts in enough people around me to bee out. Although your findings do puzzle me a little. You stated you stayed in a crucible game with the same people and didn't get bee. If your theory about their connection giving you the bee is true then wouldn't other people nearby in game, and including your neighbor if they are in the same game, get the bee error? I don't really know what the cause of the bee error is, sometimes I think it is my slow connection (1.5 Mbps download, 256kb upload). I have done all that has been suggested by Bungie. While their patch last week (like 10/7 or so) did help a little, the problem is still there. Since that patch I have been able to complete 1 control game, that's it. I do get the occasional error, like pineapple and quail but those are few and far between. Hopefully they fix the problem, since so may people are still having the problem, it obviously is not the fault of our internet.

 •
You stated you stayed in a crucible game with the same people and didn't get bee. If your theory about their connection giving you the bee is true then wouldn't other people nearby in game, and including your neighbor if they are in the same game, get the bee error?
It seems to only be affected by certain people (if my theory is correct). It seems very odd do be just a coincidence that I didn't get bee for a few matches in a row with the same people. And this has happened a few times, I just never really though much of it. It seems that if I can make it through a match, then I can make it through three or more. Though it is beginning to seem like we are dealing with multiple errors all labeled as "Bee". It seems there are people who: Can play strikes and 3v3, can't play VoG or 6v6 Can't play strikes, can play all crucible Can't play 3v3, can play 6v6 Can't play anything without fear of bee It seems to be a problem with many variants, which could make it even harder to solve.

 • I seem to be in the "Can play strikes and 3v3, can't play VoG or 6v6" group. But those groups are all inconsistent with each other. So for Bungie to label them all as BEE is very counter productive since the real cause will be harder to pinpoint, just like you said. Thanks for reporting your findings. I just hope Bungie is taking notes from you. (I doubt it though.)

 • I'm on the same sort of connection and my bee errors are extremely similar to your descriptions. I've done all sorts of altered configurations and router edits like OP too. Same results. I've watched the bandwidth monitor on my xbox one during periods of play. I'm not convinced it's at all related to bandwidth consumption. At its heaviest, I've seen at least during VoG or pvp, the xbox monitor only indicates about half to 2/3 of the connection is being used. It's never getting to my bandwidth limit. Additionally, I've seen the game maintain high bandwidth loads and not crash and I've seen it crash during periods where its hardly using any. Granted, I've seen it work at low bandwidth use and crash at high. My point is it does not seem overly correlated with bandwidth. ****Test notes Further, I've played Destiny and then put a super heavy load on the network using other machines. This is an an attempt to induce the error through adverse network conditions. I've run speed tests, downloads, and ping loads while playing Destiny. I don't think I've ever been able to force the bee/fly/lion this way -- maybe 2 or 3 time but they may have been purely spurious because the crash happens a lot anyway. So it seems that when I try to force horrid network conditions the game will not crash; rather, it will crash randomly regardless of network conditions. I totally think it has something to do with how many people are around you. I rarely crash when playing alone. Although crashes will happen on Patrol sometimes when other people phase in to my game. Same with the tower. Low population towers rarely crash. Strikes are a mixed bag same with 3v3 pvp. Crucible and VoG raids always crash sooner or later. Never any lag and I frequently can play for a while before the crashing. Somehow the game is muffing the p2p hosting and I don't know why. My nat is open all ports are forwarded. NONE of my other games regardless of system do this.

 • Same here. Every other game works perfectly online except Destiny. Do you get the contacting Destiny servers message or just crash with no warning? Both happen to me it seems. If you have tested the game with a high workload on your internet and couldn't force the errors then it is not you. I agree 100% it is based on the people around you and how many there are. Although GTA V has like 16 people in the world at once and I not once disconnected from their server. Perhaps Bungie should take some notes on how they configure their network. I hope the error is resolved for us soon so we can play the full game. For PVP I can do 3v3 but it is funny is that I have to complete a 6v6 before I get access to it. I tried Control and almost won when.. you guessed it, BEE.
