"PvErs"? How many people play and only play PvE in Destiny? I feel sorry for those who fit in that category simply because your replaying the same few strikes over and over again every week, every day. You get cool new gear and then you go use it on the SAME strikes and the same single raid currently available. Testing your new gear against other players is something i believe most people find more satisfying, as illustrated by the general feeling of disappointment toward Iron Banner being more balanced than advertised this past week. Most people will play both PvP and PvE. I don't believe many players fit into a PvE only box as they are playing half of the game. Also, players who do alot of PvP are likely going to fall into the more "hardcore" gamer audience to some extent. It's that audience that tends to stick around for more than a few months to keep a game's online community alive. Other gamers will simply switch to other newer games as they come out that arn't even in competing genres. PvP also had the most issues IMO. So im not surprised that the updates lately have been addressing PvP more. Im sure more patches will be out soon to address PvE. Especially as more PvE content becomes available. I wouldn't worry. Bungie is working incredibly hard to address issues and bring new content, especially compared to their Halo games. I really only see this game getting better the longer its out. That anticipation is definitely one of the things that will keep me around for a while.

  • I only really play PvE and have played maybe 2 hours (overall) of PvP. I didn't Buy destiny for barely 10 minutes of 6v6 action over all those maps... all 6 of them. and i prefer working with people to achieve something rather than working with the average mindless PvPer who doesn't understand the word 'teamwork'

  • I find PVP to be just as repetitive and occasionally boring. At least PVE TRIES to have a story... but then, I'm a story guy, not a PVP guy.

  • I've never seen an fps with pvp that has a story. I'm not saying it's a bad idea but I'm not sure how it would even be done. Not to mention they should probably just find a story for the... Well story. For me working with friends to figure out how to beat a team never gets boring. Not that the pvp on this game isn't frustrating. It really is. Players switch to worse less rare weapons just for pvp because the balancing destroys the rpg element Destiny was conceived around. Now it's a playing hole. But playing against computers who always respond the same on the same maps does get repetitive despite the difficulty. AIs respond like computers. They're patterns are learned and predicted. The VoG today took my team an hour and a half with 2 lvl 26 players. It can still be quite fun though. Maybe bungie thought people would play less so it wouldn't feel like an unfinished game. The pvp isn't as good as pvp oriented shooters, and the pve is a joke in terms of content available. Especially in comparison to mmos. That's my opinion.

  • I feel like it was trying to be two things and ended up not doing either really well. Both have elements that are a lot of fun, but fail to make up a totally satisfying whole. Regarding FPS having a story, I agree, but Destiny was supposed to be different, right? lol Don't get me wrong, I love playing (the gameplay is sweet), but I agree that the same spawns in the same place gets old. Maybe if I didn't suck at PVP, I'd like it more, haha.

  • The PvP would be a thousand times better if it was more Halo and less COD

  • Ya I agree. Press x to respawn like you don't want to keep playing. And it's not like there's a kill cam. Time to kill players is fast. If someone gets the drop on you you really don't have many options especially as a warlock. Throw a nade hope for the best and your gone. Oh wait press x to keep playing.

  • I only play pve. I played pvp a few times, I just don't enjoy it. I will go to it for an exotic bounty, but other than that.. no thanks. I enjoy the grind. Finding new ways to fight bosses or clear mobs, being in sync with my fireteam as we all get better individually, and as a group. Grinding is breathing. Grinding is lyfe.

  • There's a lot of MMOs out of Korea I can suggest for you. They seem to agree in that respect. They don't seem to last too long though. Aion didn't anyway.

  • There aren't very many true grind games left/being made anymore. We've become too much about give me it now, and give me it all.

  • I've only played PvE so far. I have never liked PvP in a Bungie game, nor did I buy Destiny for that mode. The unfortunate thing is that I will, at some point, be required to play PvP for exotic bounties. I just want to play PvE. The biggest issue here is that PvE is being treated exactly as PvP where weapon power is concerned. Who cares if a gun is OP in PvE? If I want a better challenge, then perhaps I will equip a different loadout. If I beat Atheon on hard (I have yet to even on normal) and get a Mythoclast, why shouldn't it be OP? That gives incentive for groups to run raids on hard.

Honestly how frakkin hard is it to make a map? there should be 50 pvp maps and 100 pve maps. Then we wouldn't feel half as ripped off. The Marathon trilogy box set came with 200 pvp maps made by USERS using Bungies design tools that they released with Marathon Infinity. There were some awesome maps by users there (the best 200 from a contest made it to the special edition boxed set. I made maps for it myself with friends. I know it was a much simpler game but the basics of level and map design are the same now.

  • Because playing the same 6 maps over and over, like people have been doing for 15 years is so much fun. Lol. Co-op is the future.

  • Well met, then. I play only PvE and to this point I have been satisfied to do so. Be patient. Soon enough the PvP aspect of the game will dominate in totality. This was obvious from the beginning by the rush to complete the main story line in a week.

  • I read up to where you said you play the same strikes over and over. You sir, win the idiot of the year award, now go show it off on the 5 maps you PvP on over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. You are as bad as my friend who said Assassins creed was boring because you did the same thing over and over again, but thinks Fifa is amazing and not repetitive at all.

  • Counter strike had only 4 maps and people STILL play it. Having the human element to deal with is what makes it fun. Every game is different despite which map it's on. Against a computer AI is entirely different. It's predictable. It is learned and then becomes less interesting. I was worried someone might think they have a point. But there isn't one. Last time I checked chess was always played on the same board. Your worse than your friend.

  • The human element exists in PvE as it always has because no one plays any Strike exactly the same way and even when played with the same people there are always surprises and things that can go wrong.

  • The crucible in this game is total unplayable gash. Why are Bungie only focusing on PvP? It's beyond me.
