Voice chat would get a bit cluttered in the tower when you think about it. text would be nice. or voice proximity as well. have to stand in close groups to chat.

  • That has also occurred to me. There is at most 16 guardians in the tower at one time, if everything was voice I think people would avoid it because it'd be too cluttered. Text is a simple solution I think to that.. And allows for easy raid group searches in game. It's not feasible for in the field be it PVP or PVE but someplace you're not shooting things it'd be great.

  • How about if you just inspect a player and have a choice to open up voice chat or a text chat, so there won't be a clutter of 16 guardians speaking at once, I know there's party chat but a quick in game chat/text switch would be good.

  • That could work for private chats of course, voice or text. In the world of MMOs (please don't just say it isn't an MMO because it does take aspects from one) there is a public chat. Players use it to advertise about intentions of going on raids or what they're selling over the trade system as well as just general chat in the areas. Something like that could be implemented in Destiny with an option to turn off the public side for those who don't want to see it/stick to the private aspects. Both options are viable.
