Iron Banner Matchmaking is Horrible
Why am i constantly being matched with low-tier players who are terrible? I get it, i have a good K/D and I capture a lot of points in control. But why should that mean i have to carry terrible players all of the time?

These 3 matches were played consecutively within a 30 minute timeframe. Each one had me matched with bad players. I don't understand the matchmaking algorithm in this game. I always lose games like this because my team always consists of low-tier players who feed kills and AFK. Something needs to be done about this Bungie. How about an Iron Banner playlist where only 1+ K/D players can play in?

I had a match today where i was matched with all <30s. 38 kills and 8400 points later, i had nearly the same effectiveness of the entire opposing team. That was an experience.

I feel ya. I'm only a level 28, but I'm a fairly decent player ( I can hold my own against a majority of level 30s) but I find it ridiculous when I'm put on a team with 1 level 30, and then 4 level 26s against a full team of 30s and 32s... (that was my most recent IB match) The match score ended with us being at 3k points and them winning.

It's Iron Banner, a competitive TOURNAMENT mode, I should be dropped into a game that's been going on for 10 minutes to lose within 30 seconds of spawning a get a free medallion in a tournament. It's pathetic. And the amount of times I'm first place on the team with teammates k/ds .5-0 is ridiculous. Iron Banner should have entry tickets, like Trials of Osiris will. In the normal train of thought, only good players go to tournaments. (Not in Bungie's mind, though)

So if you make your precious playlist made of people with a k/d over 1, half of the players will end up dropping under 1 over time. And it'll probably be you. If it's that big of a deal to you, why don't you make a constructive post and recruit teammates to queue with? But then you'd have nothing to bitch about, I suppose. Me + 5 randoms Vs. 6 Clan mates with mics destroying us Whenever I launch IB the first team Im put on is the team whos players left cause the score is 10000 to 4000. Then its me and 3 other guys trying to hold onto one base while some clan is smashing us. End screen always shows my team as having 3-4 kills cause we all just joined a team that fell apart lol

I agree. I'm about to give up on Destiny PvP for good. I do good every game, always positive K/D and pushing objectives and this game keeps matching me with self-aware sloths. No joke, out of my last 20 matches I won 1. it's very, very frustrating to say the least.

Agreed. Same happens to me. Further disincentivising me to play.
