Besides I never said I didn't use Xur to get gear. I'm not saying that what I got from him (knucklehead radar and Red Death) were earned, because I bought them with coins the game was throwing at me. They've helped immensely and they are going to keep helping until I get a raid helmet or I find something else I like better that has the perks that fit my playstyle.

  •
I just sat there and told you that getting coins thrown at you is not earning anything.

And yes two weeks ago I got Knucklehead Radar from Xur. I needed it to level up to help with the raid.

(knucklehead radar and Red Death) were earned, because I bought them with coins the game was throwing at me.
OW! First you take a Reality Check Hammer and then quickly follow it up a whopper of an Irony hit. Would you like me to call a Medic for you? That looks serious.

  • But in case you still don't get it: I did NOT earn my knucklehead radar and Red Death. I don't even know what you're trying to prove by butchering my words anyways. All the stuff I have now is getting tossed sooner or later to make way for better stuff. As far as I'm concerned anything I get from Xur is temporary.

  • You cut out the whole first part of my sentence that said I'm not saying that my knucklehead radar and Red Death were earned. Try and cut my words up a little better next time.

  • I got Ice Breaker from Atheon the day before Xur came to town. And yes two weeks ago I got Knucklehead Radar from Xur. I needed it to level up to help with the raid.

  • I'd be totally fine with not having Xur around... If loot was even remotely balanced, but there are people getting exotic loot with less than a day of play time, and I got my first random exotic (Which I don't even -blam!-ing want) today, after 430 crucible matches in total and nearly 5 days of played time.

  • And what, you think other people don't need gear to help with the raid? I only PvP, but it is the most unrewarding system there is. So I fully support having Xur to sell me shit when I need it, because lord knows I'm not catching a break with my RNG loot.

  • My advice to you is to do strikes. Crucible is the worst place to try and get loot from. I'm not saying Xur should be removed because yeah he does help players get better gear that can make the game much easier in certain situations. But yeah 430 crucible matches is too much man. Strikes have much higher chance for loot, and strange coins if that is what you want, and instead of getting Titan pounded four times a match for nothing, you could be wrecking Sepiks Prime and get way better shit and have more fun doing it. IMO PvE is where you get your gear and PvP is where you test it after you max it. Not the other way around.

  • PvE is just so dull. I came from games where the PvE was immensely difficult... In it's earlier years (WoW) and when you can breeze through it at any stage just to get loot.. Well, it feels like you're doing menial labor instead of playing a game where you should be having fun and/or being challenged. I get it, grinding is necessary in most MMO's, but I don't want the whole game to just be grinding for gear, I want to actually enjoy playing it. If I spent any more time doing shit I dislike in the hopes of being blessed by RNG, I'd probably hate this game after a week.
