  • No, you twisted my words to make them what you want to hear. Like a baby.

  • Did you even read anything? I just sat there and told you that getting coins thrown at you is not earning anything. Read it again.

  • You can't TELL me my opinion. It's mine. People that can't do nightfall don't get thrown coins, they have to do strikes and hope for coin rewards or engrams that turn into coins

  • And I fall into the latter category. I've only done one Nightfall and and it was when I was 26 because my 28 and 29 friend needed someone to revive them or to wait in the room behind them in case they died and needed to join back.

  • Me too, so you KNOW it's not THAT easy to get coins.

  • Not from any one thing. But you can do crucible matches, farm chests, do a tiger strike, do a mission, do a daily heroic, do a weekly heroic strike, gold tier a public event, level up the Cryptarch for his package. Blue engrams can give motes and coins too. I seem to have better luck for finding engrams during the tiger strikes so kill all the mobs instead of speeding through them and then add whatever you find to your engrams at the end (or coins or blue weapons/gear whatever) and then decrypt them. I guarantee after ten tiger strikes you'll have enough coins that you know what I mean when I say coins are easy to get. The only reason I don't have many right now is because I'm trying to rank up Vanguard so I can buy something from them so I can stop being at the marks cap so my strikes matter more. Also I need to dismantle the Legendaries I buy from them as their gear sucks and I need shards.

  • Mate, getting coins is just the long way of doing things. Those coins give us an even smaller loot table to choose from. And if you're getting lots of coins, great. Some of us had to save and search for 2 weeks or more. So hop off the high horse and accept that for the moment, there are two viable paths to an exotic, neither are easy or hard, and both are down to RNG. There's your /thread, whether you like it or not.

  • Ok I'm not like swimming around in strange coins; I don't get a lot either, I've only bought two items from Xur, those being Knucklehead Radar and Red Death. That totals 36 coins I believe. I only use one character. But there are a staggering number of ways to get them. If you want to get coins easier, maybe you could try the following: do a strike, do a weekly strike, do a nightfall strike, do a mission, do a daily heroic mission, find a few blue engrams (that drops like candy), play in the crucible, gold tier a daily public event, level up the Cryptarch or a faction and check the mail, participate in a raid, and you can even make another character to do all these things on to to double your amount of coins and then you can put them all on one character and have a shopping spree!

  • And none of the above rings true for random drops either? The chance is the same, but one drop is a weapon and another is 1/17th of a weapon. Figure out which one takes longer, not least that plenty of the more reliable ways to get coins are weekly locked. Unlike say, random drops from any mob. As I said, it's chance for either method.

  • Yes it is true the RNG plays a role in both things. But you can get strange coins from blue engrams and chests and strikes and crucible which are not weekly locked. Matter of fact you can even farm engrams and farm chests for engrams. If you really need to, you can farm chest for ~1000 spinmetal(or other material) and you can go exchange those for marks, rep, and then you can just buy legendary loot. Once you max you legendary loot feel free to do the raid where the highest chance of exotic drops are. If you don't get one don't feel bad you can try ago a next week. In the between time you can focus on getting strange coins again for another Xur hand out.
