Yeah this needs to be fixed ASAP. It's not necessarily a glitch, but it's disrespectful to the people who actually beat Atheon legitimately.

As you can probably see Bungie themselves said it was a bug. Case closed, not an exploit. It is just a bug.
-
Purposely abusing a bug is what an exploit is. If you go in with the intent to push him off, that is an exploit. If you go in and fight him the way he was made to be fought, and he randomly falls off due to a grenade or something, that is a bug.
-
I hope you realise you contradicted yourself. Even if you didn't directly know it, you exploited the fact that it was there because he fell down. The developers didn't know that would happen. Bug. You are not cheating. You are not violating any rules or using other programs such as mod tools to do it.

Edited by Hero We Need: 10/24/2014 12:58:25 AMUm, wrong. You didn't know he would of fell, the developers didn't know he would fall. You found a bug. You don't repeat, you don't exploit the bug by repeating it. That is how you find a bug, you report it and move on. Try learning the definiton of the word exploit in the video game world: "In video games, an exploit (colloquially sploit) is the use of a bug or glitches, game system, rates, hit boxes, or speed, etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers."
-
That is a pathetic semantic argument. You aren't supposed to be able to win like that. The name you use doesn't matter
-
You said it. "I'm not SUPPOSED to win like that." I'm not going against any laid out rules, am I? Thank you for proving my point.
-
You vote republican don't you
-
I'm not American so I wouldn't know what that is. It's probably an exploit to get free tax credit or something though.

Ukip? National front?
-
UKIP all day. This isn't the UK anymore. It's the United Arab Emirates. But let's save this debate for later.

I have beaten him legit many times... And honestly think its easier doing it legit than glitch ing but who gives a -blam!- if they do??? Everyone has there own fun thing to do there's is clearly glitch ing and everyone ive met who did it legit doesnt care either. Just bunch of people whining wanting to feel big and brag about creating weps/armour
-
Righto then, let's have a discussion about this. You cannot judge yourself if it is an exploit. In fact I fail to see how it can be called an exploit... No third party software or modifications to the game were made in order to make this happen. There is a cliff there. If Bungie didn't want you pushing him off then there would be no cliff. His AI is just... I don't even know what to call it. It's just bad. Calling this an exploit is like saying - "I was in a confined space and he threw a grenade in! No fair! He was meant to come in and shoot me." But who are you to say what is and what is not an exploit? Did you make the game? No. So why do you suddenly think you can call people out on exploiting an AI. For all you know Bungie might have put that cliff there so people could find a way to do that. *Waits to be called an idiot and have all my points completely disregarded because "I'm full of shet")
-
Call it what you want. This isn't intentional and will be patched soon.
-
Except they are patching it. So I would assume they didn't. I get you want the easy way out, it's just lame
-
They're patching it because it's "not the way THEY want Destiny to be played." The name of the title of the game is Ironic. Maybe if Bungie wasn't so incompetent they might have, you know, put an (invisible hue hue) wall there? Oh you earned your items from the (slot machine) VoG because you killed the hardest (obviously not) boss in the game!
-
I didn't call it an exploit in my original comment. Bungie stated it's an exploit (or whatever term they used), so why are you sitting here and arguing like I care, or your opinion will matter at this point? It was a waste of time. The creators of the game disagree with your point of view. There was no point in posting lol.
-
So you did disregard every single one of my points, and without any proof of Bungie specifically saying "This is an exploit!" I cannot agree with you.
-
From 10/17 weekly update: Knocking a boss off a ledge is a bug. We will seek to address bugs like these as quickly as possible.
-
Bug > Exploit. Bug - Something that was not intended to make it into the game but (because Bungie has dog poop QA) it did. Exploit - Players using third party software or tools to take advantage of the game. Players are exploiting a bug. Is it an exploit? No. It is a BUG. BUG. BUG. BUG.
-
They've stated they're patching it so you can't do this. They're adding "Baby Bumpers", most likely an invisible wall he can't be pushed through. It was in the latest update notice.

So it isn't an exploit. It's a bug. Bungie even said it themselves.
