You didn't beat anything. You cheated in my book. The definition of integrity for the simple minded. Doing the right thing even if no one is around to see it. You beat nothing you used a glitch. That's called the easy way out actually solo him the right way then post a video again.

I'm pretty sure there is right and wrong... If I murdered someone that would be wrong wouldn't it? If I pushed a mentally challenged person off a cliff (Mentally challenged person be Atheon :P) it would be wrong.... me giving a kidney to someone that needs it is right... don't tell me there is no right and wrong.

Nothing wrong with murder and/or pushing a mentally challenged off a cliff so long as you don't get caught. Giving away a kidney though, that is wrong in the fact that you might need that one day and so made the wrong choice in giving it away.

Pushing bosses off the map has been a legitimate strategy ever since Super Mario. People now instantly think its cheating because they can't do it.

He didn't cheat. Any enemies can fall off ledges, same as us. The objective is to kill him, whatever means possible. If there was a clipping issue that caused you to go into a wall and he fell off a ledge trying to follow you, that would be cheating, as it would be an exploitable glitch in the game. He utilized the core mechanics of the game and found a way to use the terrain to his advantage. Cheap, yeah a bit. Cheating, no. That would be like saying anyone in Crucible using the shotgun and AR cheating, which it is not.

Actually solo him? How are you supposed to open the portals after you get teleported if you're solo?

The game saves at checkpoints. You can return any time you like by yourself and continue. His happen to be at the last area.

That doesn't answer my question. The Atheon encounter requires someone to open up teleports. It cannot be "actually soloed" aside of this glitch.

You have X amount of time to kill him before he sends people back in time. If you kill him before that, and you are alone, then you will win as seen in this video. You are not sent through time right away. He used that grace period wisely because if he didn't, he would have been transported through time and died due to being "lost in time". You can clearly see the boss spawning in front of him in the video and giving chase. The boss clearly, at no point, sent him through time or even reached a point of trying to.

Fine "exploit," rather than "glitch". This is obviously not the way the encounter was designed to be played. But none of that is relevant to my point, which is that Atheon cannot be soloed any other way.

Gotcha. It at first sounded like you were asking how he could have done it at all, rather than asking how it could be done after being transported.

How is gravity in the presence of ledges a glitch? If they didn't want Atheon to fall, they should have given him some hovering ability, like Hive Wizards.

People take videogames more seriously than life sometimes, I think it's pathetic, but whatever. Back then, games were just games. You play for fun, you have a good time. You lose, you lose; you win, good job. Easy mode, hard mode. Cheat codes. I still look at games the same way, they're just games. People can play however they see fit, and no one can stop them from doing that.

Yah, I do think that if you make a living off take it seriously but if not focus on work.
