Public event farming?

does anyone know how many times you can get rewarded with strange coins/motes of light/ ascendant materials for one character per day?

Check out my post from yesterday. Seems to be an unpublicised 'cap' on material rewards from events. Currently completed 18 public events in 2 days on gold and got absolutely nothing.
