Should PvP players be "forced" into patrol missions to get upgrade materials for their gear? If you don't want to play the Crucible and are willing to forgo and weapon bounties, level up you're Vanguard rep and you need never step into the Crucible. But you can't have all the game' stewards and only play *part* of the game.

 • It's funny that bring this up because you can turn in those same Mats for crucible marks. Crazy! They put in a way for PvE players to get crucible gear. It's like Bungie is thinking way ahead of everyone.....

 • Well now thats gone so there is literally no way to get marks barring crucible

 • No, PVP should also reward upgrade materials even possibly allow you to trade marks for them.

 •
patrol missions to get upgrade materials for their gear?
Sweet what PvE mission gives you material. Going to look out for that one. I've been only able to get mats from loot Chest and material nodes.

 • That's what I was referrng to. But you have to come out of the Crucible and play in Patrol mode.

 • The problem is, there are 5 Crucible vendors and only 2 Vanguard vendors (Class vendor and the weapons vendor). That is a little disproportionate. The Faction vendors should take either Vanguard marks or Crucible marks.

 • You don't need to PvE to get crucible marks

 • I agree with the marks situation. Especially since you can earn Faction reputation doing Vanguard bounties. It makes no sense to me that they'll only take Crucible Marks in return for weapons and armor.

Seems to most everyone it was pve with PvP added. So yes you should have to play pve to upgrade

 • Please see the last sentence of my post. I agree with you. The game is supposed to be an integrated whole. Bungie doesn't want players ONLY playing PvE or ONLY playing PvP if it can be avoided.

 • Oh I read it. I just politely disagree is all.

 • Then I would politely submit that you are incorrect. Several Bungie reps have stated that the game was structured to "nudge" people into stepping out of their comfort zones and participating in parts of the game that they normally wouldn't.

 • I'm sure most people here have tried crucible. Its not even that it's especially horrible. We just don't want to play it. I for one never got as pissed off at cod or titanfall as I do in this game with people doing a super around corner of the old shotgun fusion rifle shenanigans. He'll I even watched a guy kill pretty much everyone spamming rockets when the game first came out. That leaves a bad taste in your mouth especially for the people they want to "nudge" into playing it more. Its not fun.

 • Depends on your definition of fun. Twitch shooters like CoD reward the person with the fastest nervous system. Titanfall (when it first came out) was better at emphasizing mobility in three dimensions and structuring the game so that campers and run-and-gunners had something to think about. The Crucible rewards the player who out-thinks his opponent. You can't just run into a gunfight...or you're going to take a rocket launcher/super/FR in the face. You need to out manuever, out think and ---if necessary----outgun your opponent. ...and control your distance at all times. The other thing that make the Crucible different, is that its very dangerous to "run" as a lone wolf. Too many nasty surprises you'll liable to blunder into....and too many times you'll survive one gunfight only to have someone come by and finish you off before your health regenerates. I'm not big on PvP. But I like how the Crucible rewards smart players and not just the quickest reacting.

 • Wasn't a replacement for halo, farcry, or mass effect either. To get the most of this game you need to play both. I personally do enjoy both. From PvE and PvP perspectives, can still achieve good gear without doing the opposite. Short changing yourself if you're not getting your 100 marks from vanguard and crucible both though. Vanguard has 2 vendors, crucible has 2 vendors, faction rep is gained quicker than either since all bounties go towards them, do however require crucible marks. Factions probably should accept both currencies since rep is gained from both, bounties and what not shouldn't be touched though. Then again, could be bungie's plan to encourage pve'ers to crucible more or just to keep people that enjoy both content with more things to work towards

 • Durn right PVP is an additional nice thing not the focus of the game.
