Great idea! Should be able to set the difficulty for better perks, like you said. And maybe bigger fire teams for the harder levels would be cool.

  • oop. srry. I just mean starting on a low level and each level after that getting higher and higher. Like start at twenty, next level 22, next 24, etc.

    Oh yeah that would be cool. Start at level 20 and by the time your past earth it would be 26 and higher. But I really think just being able to select an overall level like the playlist does would be cooler or maybe having perks on the higher level play-throughs. Because currently the Story missions past the first two levels don't have any perks other than harder difficulty. There are not even XP bonuses or Vanguard marks or rank or even gear rewards. It's just merely a harder difficulty. Making a playlist or making the story missions have replay perks at higher difficulty would be awesome to put emphasis on having fun replaying the story once you're past the story the first time. I really like the story but I feel like if I play it again I'm just playing it with no benefit other than, "hey lets play it again on a harder difficulty". We need some new game plus like perks. It would make the game to me feel less like a gear grind after 20 and more of a story based adventure with some gear along the way.

  • SEriously! If you do it on a harder level, especially one that is above you, there should be incentive for that. Every other game ever does that. And if they are gonna give us a sliver of story at a time, they need to make us want to play it again and again.

    Noted. Story Mission playlist or difficulty reward bonus definitely is needed in some form or another just to show people that are moaning about the grind nature of the game. Now to put some light on a concept that is in use with Bounties, I do see the Vanguard bounties by Xander now and then that give story mission bonuses, but they are peppered all over the story missions and they tend to be the same group of missions over and over. Rather it would be better having a playlist or an overall difficulty perk, even if the missions merely conveyed on the menu that we get at least more XP on higher levels and increased loot drops. Both of these would let people know that playing the missions are better than loot caving or other grind game-play nonsense that's going around. *Thus far I appreciate our talk on this subject. Good job at keeping it constructive*

  • *thanks!* This kind of constructive advice is much more helpful to everyone involved than senseless raging, btiching and moaning. One thing I think would be super cool for the Bounties: give them more story. Maybe pick up only one at a time but each one takes much longer and is worth much more. (Like the exotic weapon bounties, but with a progressing story.) I mean, what a great way to begin expanding on the NPC's stories, building background and adding substance. Plus, if we are gonna have to do this many bounties, it will help reduce the repetitiveness. Instead of doing 5 at a time, do one.... Thoughts?

  • Yeah, that's a great idea. Even if it mean that replaying the story you alread did unlocks new dialogue in the same mission to give old missions a whole new meaning. Example: Like The [spoiler]Devil Arcon[/spoiler] has been resurrected you need to go back on [spoiler]Restoration mission[/spoiler] and send him back to his grave before he escapes and causes chaos on earth. Then there would be some new dialogue from ghost saying at the end, "Good job. We'll keep an eye on this area in case by some reason he's ressurrected we'll have you go again. This at least will give the repetition some more depth. also the Multi mission bounty would be cool. It would be like having an exotic bounty that says, "Play thorugh all the Earth Missions on Level 28 Heroic. This would give replay ability too without having the playlist.

  • Yeah!! It's time for more depth. First, though, the Ghost needs an update that changes his voice. lol. I'm sick of listening to Peter Dinklage boredly reading lines into a microphone.

  • I don't really have a problem with our Ghosts voice. I think Dinklage is great. I'm just really interested in features that give a solid fun way to replay the game's story multiple times (with cinematics included like the very first mission we played in the game [spoiler]A guardian Rises[/spoiler].) with meaning. The playlist is something I'm interested in only because it goes beyond the daily story entirely (which is a bit too short in my opinion, but I love it for the Ascendant Materials and for the fact that it's playing a story mission). I feel that too much credit is being put on the Strikes and Crucibles when the Story really shines in this game and yet we don't get replay perks other than difficulty or Daily Stories. For example during the Queen Week I think she should have had us play all the story missions on Cosmodrome again in the somewhat sequential order that game allows rather than a purely random story mission that has a boss at the end.

    lol. For some reason, I can't stand Dinklage as the Ghost. Anyway, the strikes and Crucible definitely seem to be the main focus. And frankly, I'm sick of doing the strikes over and over. And I just plain don't enjoy PVP (wish I did, but don't). But I'm also sick of doing the story missions over and over. There's not enough story to them. I understand Bungie was nervous about getting too much into the RPG aspect of this RPG/FPS but if they want this to be a community, they need to do a lot more work on the story. Give us more things to do, more ways to do them, and better incentives for completing them. I'm kinda waiting for the expansions to come out before deciding how I really feel about this game. I want to love it so bad! The story is there, hiding in the Grimoires. I'd like to see more of it in the actual game play.

  • True. Not to mention this game is still in its infancy. I guess it's not really fair to be complaining about it yet. I just can't help but compare it to the recent games I played. Diablo, for example, has THOUSANDS of different kinds of armor. Class specific and non. In Destiny I have literally gotten the same exact armor the entire time I've been playing.

  • Were getting Sort of off topic. But when it comes to Armor. What I notice is that Engram or loot drops tend to have totally different perks even though the item may be the same name. I've gotten tons of Queen gear and each one had different perks and out of all that repetition I got one that I really loved. But back on topic. This idea for story playlist or perks could really give more variety to a game with 10 years to go on.
