Hey level 30s, this message is for you.

(DISCLAIMER: I'm not asking for charity. It's your game, do what the f'k you wanna do. But here's what I have to say about it. As always, the guilty will take offense...) Let me tell you what happened yesterday, as me an some guys I run with were setting up to start the VOG. Keep in mind, I've played the raid a few times now and have gotten as far as the final battle but yet to win it. One guy is already at level 30, and was willing to help us 28 & 29s, but we were short one man so one of the guys messaged one of his freinds who's also a 30 and he says "I'll only play if you're playing on Hard". Now, I know it's your game and you can play how you want to, but clearly one of these guys has the right idea and one doesn't. If you're the type who actively tries to help people with the raid, and ultimately get better at the raid, and thus have MORE people to raid with, then thank you Guardian, your courtesy is most appreciated and you help us all become stronger. But if you're like the second guy, and only "helps" when it benefits you, or doesn't help at all (like those who beat the raid and only play with others who beat it) then f'k you with greasy pipe. IDK, maybe it's because you suck at communication, maybe it's because you leeched off of your team when you beat it and are too chicken shit to assume the lead, but whatever the case may be, you conquered the so far toughest challenge that Destiny musters...so stop being bitches. TL:DR- Props to all the max level players who help those close to reaching that level. All the rest can get a train ran on them. By trains. Bullet Points added for people who can't bother to read the whole post: *Raid snob was on a teammate's PSN. They've played the raid together so there's synergy. *I have played the raid several times. Haven't beat it, but I know the mechanics. *Everyone in the part is 28-29, adequately equipped and we only needed another trigger, not to be "carried".

  • What about people that are a lost cause? I have played loads of raids, actually completed it over 25 times not to mention how many times we stopped with the team because some people are actually incompetent to such a degree they are a liability on the team, I have no desire helping those people. The incompetency comes to light when doing the Gatekeepers, is it so hard to put a few shots in the Gatekeeper and get the hell out of the portal? Or is killing a Praetorian with 3 people that hard? It's honestly not that hard but I have struggled with loads of teams just to go back to Orbit and finding a new team hours/days later.

  • What's wrong with him wanting to benefit aswell? Inevitably he's helping you, it just means you'll have to earn it and play harder.

  • So you're crying on the forums because some guy didn't want to carry you? Moreover, how are you a 29 and you still can't beat Atheon on normal??

  • I love running the raid to help people get the gear :) hoping someone would do the same. I've done it 3 times for "free" meaning I get nada. But I love helping people and hearing them celebrate is awesome :)

    • Wow ok. So you're saying I should help random people for hours on end out of the kindness of my heart for nothing? Nah I'm good. Do the raid once a week on hard and that's that. No reason to do it again.

    • For those who want to help and want a little loot, you can make 3 Charakters of the same class and switch the gear from your main to the alt and get 3 times Materials or Weapons cause Raid timer is on Charakter not on Account.

I'm level 30 and I helped out some guys last night, even though you get zero loot if you've already run the raid and you never get experience during the raid. I had only played with one of them before, but there is benefit in growing the pool of players who you can raid with in the future, by teaching others how to beat it.

      • I tried to help a group of guys by just telling them the steps to beat atheon and the group of guys were being di ck heads to me so I left the chat and deleted them. It's not about your level its your personality. Too many people seem to feel "entitled" on this game, seriously I have a tight knit group of about 3/4 ppl on this game who helped me out and I returned the favor.

      • So because this guy wouldn't help you, you think the situation is unfair? What on earth is wrong with you? If he had done the raid on normal that week at least once, he may not have wanted to do it again. And he doesn't have to. Get over yourself. The world owes you nothing.

      • It's a game. Don't expect people to take time for a player that they haven't even met once before in their life.

        • The funny thing is, that you aren't guarantee raid level gear for beating the raid. I attempted it with some friends, we beat the first boss, I was the only person to get a piece of raid gear. They quit after not being able to beat the second boss, reattempt the raid without me, get to the final boss and none of them still got any raid level gear. For those who haven't attempted it, there are 4 main parts. You are awarded something after each part. Materials or legendary gear. From what I have read, there are 4 loot chests between bosses. These chests may have a higher chance to yield gear better, not sure. One player level 29, completed the raid multiple times and was trying to help us (when i got invited to the final boss), still hasn't gotten raid gear. The VoG is a fun challenge and definitely worth playing.

          • I agree with you but when it comes to being a lower lvl you still have to grind so of course people will only help if it also benefits them. I can tell you this i have all of my raid gear now and all i need is shards so i can get to lvl30 and once im there i will help whoever needs me

          • What you don't realize about the guy who only wants to do it on hard is that he's probably done it multiple times. I know myself have done it at least 20-30 times trying to help people and I'm just tired of it now.

          • I don't understand why some players are like that. Scum bags. If they don't want to help, they can simply say no. I have a buddy that is only Lv20 and wasn't quite educated on how to level up past 20. I helped him all day yesterday for the most part and I'm at lv27. I did a few low lv strikes and what not with him, to help him. That's a true friend! -blam!- the rest! Lol But seriously, what a dick.
