I still don't understand why people get so bent out of shape over Reach (Looking through the subthreads before I posted this.), It was a good game and very fun. Sure it had flaws, and supposedly broke cannon, but quite honestly, people need to relax over the damn thing. It's four years old. Hardly anyone plays it anymore. Sheesh.

  • I loved Reach, love Reach. A lot of people hate it as they prefer Trueskill ranking and not a progression system, Armour Lock and loadouts, Bungie did -blam!- up with the lore. I overlooked all this as I enjoyed every minute, Campaign, MP & firefight. Daily and weekly challenges had me coming back for more. Even those that hate Reach cannot deny it had the best customs and forge. -blam!- all the haters, Reach and Halo 4 are not as bad as D**** in hindsight and they had much lower budgets. [spoiler]Yes I know Bungie didn't make Halo 4.[/spoiler]

    Player population is irrelevant to the problems the game had. Just because people don't play it anymore, doesn't mean it voids it of its flaws.

  • I never said that it did. Personally, all of these "issues" with the game really are minor. I don't think I'll ever understand just how angry armor lock makes people. The argument of "It slows down the game/people shouldn't have easy invincibility" kind of falls apart when you can ignore it, and there was easy invincibility in Halo 3 as well. Overshield constant charge up when you pick it up, if you got shot it just kept charging. How is that not something people bitched about? I also like how within minutes two different people posted similar responses to me.

  • True. But it's worse than armor lock in a sense, as once you've picked it up, until it finishes charging, you're practically unkillable. And fully capable of shooting at and killing other players. Now I know trying to come up with examples of how unfair that is would be easily debunkable, so I won't bother, but you can see how that can cause problems right? What baffles me is how a much more tame version of that is bitched over, but not that.

  • Like I said, one is the result of map control and skill, and thus is far more fair. Not to mention you deserve to be punished for not controlling the map. Power weapons can also neutralize the advantage of overshields, as well.
