Nightfall strike never gives engrams as rewards. They are guaranteed legenday or exotic items. Now I would believe your story if you had said a mob had droped it during the strike...

Must be very unlucky. I have ran Nightfall 3 times every week to get myself and clan members through it, and every time we have done it... people have recieved items and not engrams.
