Why Bladedancer is OP and a fair solution to the problem.

Make all the excuses you want... ;) ...that's a .76 k/d spread between the top 100 Hunters and the top 100 Titans. Take into account that most of those players are rocking over a 3.0 k/d and that margin is even more ridiculous! *updated with a good balance suggestion and addressed pve* I've been in 10 of these threads over the last couple days. I see the same responses over and over again. Hunters are too worried about losing their favorite power. Every one else is just tired of getting team wiped. Let's just sum up the problem. Nice and clear. Easy to understand... *Arc Blade out kills every other super in this game.* It travels too far and last too long. Yes, they can be killed while using Arc Blade. With maps offering ample cover and Hunters having access to Hungering Blade, blink,(free) dm resistance, dash and increased movement speed... Unless the Hunter calls it in at the worst possible time (out in the open with a team focus firing) he's going to get some easy kills. Our super canceling your super does not in any way balance things out. We get 1 whole kill for stopping your potential kill streak. Awesome! Now let's go through all the lovely and intelligent responses that this subject generates, one at a time: -Titan and Warlock supers can wipe a whole team in one move! A: Yes they can. BUT IT NEVER HAPPENS! It doesn't. People don't group up like that. You can be damn sure if they see an enemy running at them, they spread out. Quickly. If we saved our supers to achieve a kill streak that Arc Blade provides in almost every match, we'd be holding on to them for days... It's the distance that Arc Blade can travel that makes it so unbalanced. If it was wiping out teams all huddled together, I don't think anyone would complain. As it stands Arc Blade can achieve better results across multiple map areas. -A Hunter can be stopped easily during Arc Blade! One shot gun blast! You must be bad. A: I might be. But so is everyone I've ever played with or played against because I rarely see Hunters get shut down. What most of you don't understand is... we don't all ping the same to whatever server they are connecting us to. I have great internet, but from my perspective Arc Blade is practically unstoppable. Combine lag, damage resistance, a dash that goes way too far and you end up with an unstoppable juggernaut wiping entire teams. -Supers are supposed to be OP. Stop whining. A: Yes. Supers are supposed to be OP. The problem lies in one super far exceeding the other supers kill potential. The 5 other subclasses seem to achieve about the same kills with their super. About 2-3. Arc Blade seems to usually net about 3-5. That's a problem of balance. It just is. -Titans and Warlocks can panic super! A: Yes we can. And it nets us a whole one kill. One less than our average. Which is 2 kills... which is probably why we do it. Why hold on to something that isn't of that much value if it can save your life now?! If FoH or Nova Bomb was as valuable as Arc Blade, we might not waste it! ---------- My point in this is: right now there is a subclass that is out of whack with the other 5. It just is. If Bungie reduced Arc Blade to a 3 kill max (4 with an exotic and the enemy would have to be very close together) and slightly reduced the damage resistance, that would bring it more in line with the other supers. 2-3 kills. 4 if you win the lottery. (I actually posted this as a response in another thread. I'm tired of looking for other people's thread to follow the conversation) * I've seen quite a few people suggesting lowering the time limit that Arc Blade can be active and not limiting the amount of kills it can achieve. -I like this. It deals with the current problem (Arc Blade achieving too many kills across too large an area) while still leaving the Hunter in a strong position to deal with groups. *I do not want Pve Hunters to struggle with Arc Blade more than they already have to. I'm not against separate balancing for pvp and pve. That's Bungie's thing. I have no desire to see Bladedancer nerfed in pve.   • Pros Titans: OP useful. Warlock: play-style, Good class, Space Magic, useful. Hunter: play-style, Awesome, useful. Cons Titans: There to over powered and they smell like turd! Warlock: ok Hunter: ok If you want to insult me by comment you're wrong and I'm right. Most people they say there the master class but... Most stupid thing is that while they shoulder charge me off a cliff and its impossible to avoid getting fist of havoc on you. when I jump I still die. no matter what we all die from it. Well it's crucible way of saying its unforgiving place. I don't want them to be nerf...It's that they are cowards of crucible, it's place of effort to achieve victory. People say warlocks and hunters are pussies NO! There not (super doesn't even matter) they still beat Titans no matter what with guns,melee and super and please don't mention about gunslinger titans are not the "master class" of all destiny crucible is place for challenge ( titans are pussies)

    • Does foh really average 2 kills? I would think it would be between 1-2 kills. I get 1 kill alot more often then 3. And 0 kills more often then 4.

      Eh i use gunslinger in crucible because i think its better. This is coming from someone with 3 hunters. I have encountered arc bladers in the crucible plenty of times. I hear them super, i set a trip mine for them around the corner and pull out my shotgun. Easy solution. If anything should change it should be the fact that shoulder bash is an instant kill yet a throwing knife to the skull isnt. See how one takes skill to do while the other requires nothing? Other than that, the classes seem pretty balanced to me and im looking forward to the new classes coming in th next DLC

      • I only use bladedancer for the grenades and blink. The arc blade super is the reason I switched to gunslinger tbh. Got tired of being killed while in it. Titans save thier fist of panic just for bladedancers. Plus teams run and you have to chase them down a lot.

          • not op, pretty sure I've already commented on this thread or another like it. nothing wrong with the classes as they are (except warlocks melee needs to only give flameshield after a kill like the titans does).

          • Regarding the montage. Correction. This goes against what you have been complaining about. The super never lasted very long in actuality. He always scored 3 kills in a very small area of the map and not the entire map as so many of you complain. He was killed by one fusion rifle blast. The only time he killed 4 was when they where extreeeeeeeemly close together and they where all just looking at him. Most of his kills where people who simply floofed by him(warlocks I'm looking at you) and not defensive at all. About 2-3 supers in a game give him 6-9 kills most like like 2 times a game though. Also on larger maps, the entire team is spread out and you only receive 2 kills unless it is control in which a [b]smart[/b] titan and a warlock with [b]common sense[/b] could easily achieve the same amount of kills. Also, this is a montage...people do not created montages using footages of them self getting 2 kills per super and a negative k/d.

          • Correction. Radiance can get you 3-5 kills. Last just about as long and can traverse the entire map. It is just as op by your logic.

              you must not be familiar with the ram wearing, blinking, 2 grenade, unstoppable (whether you're behind them, underneath them, to the left or right of them) panic bombers out there. And my crucible medal score is over a million with top 1% in most categories, top 20% in kd, so my opinion means something

              • I believe I have enough pvp time for a legitimate opinion Blade dancer is very good if you know what your doing and your playing average players, I've seen too many kids just run at me and get melted by TLW because they don't blink over and fall until I'm in their range As for getting beat by every super, you're so wrong, nova bomb and fist of havok win everytime, same with golden gun if you don't suck, bubble is pretty useless if they have razors edge, and radiance is pretty damn good against blade dancers, all you gotta do is tag them with a nade, even if you miss a nade shotgun melee is more than enough to kill with the bonus scorch damage

                • What you said about titans never clearing out whole rooms. Correction. [b]Smart[/b] titans do that on a regular basis. Which is probably why you never see it happen.

                • Correction. Every other super out kills Bladedancer. Nova Bomb. Panic fist. Golden gun. Radiance sort of. Bubble doesn't count as a super in PvP.

                • Bladedancer needs a pve buff tell me how i kill five majors and make two or three orbs. In pvp i never run blade it feels cheap

                  • The blade dancer super only works well against newer players who don't communicate, and can be easily ended by any other super besides defender. A super to take out a super is fair, and blade dancers are fragile in comparison. They have an extra shield while using bladedancer, but no time to regen rendering the shield useless after a couple hits(headshot sniper is instant death). A non-defender titan(don't really use titans) and voidwalker only has to stay alive for a second to use their super. Blade dancer can't even guarantee a kill in one hit against people not using their super. They need to buff blade dancer in pve and nerfing it will only make it worse.

                  • It gets a bit tiring reading nerf this buff that on the forum just because people have had a hard time against a particular weapon or class... I have a lack of experience in pvp but this argument for once seems constructive with evidence to back it up so it at least warrants a sensible discussion
