Why Bladedancer is OP and a fair solution to the problem.

Make all the excuses you want... ;) ...that's a .76 k/d spread between the top 100 Hunters and the top 100 Titans. Take into account that most of those players are rocking over a 3.0 k/d and that margin is even more ridiculous! *updated with a good balance suggestion and addressed pve* I've been in 10 of these threads over the last couple days. I see the same responses over and over again. Hunters are too worried about losing their favorite power. Every one else is just tired of getting team wiped. Let's just sum up the problem. Nice and clear. Easy to understand... *Arc Blade out kills every other super in this game.* It travels too far and last too long. Yes, they can be killed while using Arc Blade. With maps offering ample cover and Hunters having access to Hungering Blade, blink,(free) dm resistance, dash and increased movement speed... Unless the Hunter calls it in at the worst possible time (out in the open with a team focus firing) he's going to get some easy kills. Our super canceling your super does not in any way balance things out. We get 1 whole kill for stopping your potential kill streak. Awesome! Now let's go through all the lovely and intelligent responses that this subject generates, one at a time: -Titan and Warlock supers can wipe a whole team in one move! A: Yes they can. BUT IT NEVER HAPPENS! It doesn't. People don't group up like that. You can be damn sure if they see an enemy running at them, they spread out. Quickly. If we saved our supers to achieve a kill streak that Arc Blade provides in almost every match, we'd be holding on to them for days... It's the distance that Arc Blade can travel that makes it so unbalanced. If it was wiping out teams all huddled together, I don't think anyone would complain. As it stands Arc Blade can achieve better results across multiple map areas. -A Hunter can be stopped easily during Arc Blade! One shot gun blast! You must be bad. A: I might be. But so is everyone I've ever played with or played against because I rarely see Hunters get shut down. What most of you don't understand is... we don't all ping the same to whatever server they are connecting us to. I have great internet, but from my perspective Arc Blade is practically unstoppable. Combine lag, damage resistance, a dash that goes way too far and you end up with an unstoppable juggernaut wiping entire teams. -Supers are supposed to be OP. Stop whining. A: Yes. Supers are supposed to be OP. The problem lies in one super far exceeding the other supers kill potential. The 5 other subclasses seem to achieve about the same kills with their super. About 2-3. Arc Blade seems to usually net about 3-5. That's a problem of balance. It just is. -Titans and Warlocks can panic super! A: Yes we can. And it nets us a whole one kill. One less than our average. Which is 2 kills... which is probably why we do it. Why hold on to something that isn't of that much value if it can save your life now?! If FoH or Nova Bomb was as valuable as Arc Blade, we might not waste it! ---------- My point in this is: right now there is a subclass that is out of whack with the other 5. It just is. If Bungie reduced Arc Blade to a 3 kill max (4 with an exotic and the enemy would have to be very close together) and slightly reduced the damage resistance, that would bring it more in line with the other supers. 2-3 kills. 4 if you win the lottery. (I actually posted this as a response in another thread. I'm tired of looking for other people's thread to follow the conversation) * I've seen quite a few people suggesting lowering the time limit that Arc Blade can be active and not limiting the amount of kills it can achieve. -I like this. It deals with the current problem (Arc Blade achieving too many kills across too large an area) while still leaving the Hunter in a strong position to deal with groups. *I do not want Pve Hunters to struggle with Arc Blade more than they already have to. I'm not against separate balancing for pvp and pve. That's Bungie's thing. I have no desire to see Bladedancer nerfed in pve.   • I notice you only have a Titan character. I respect your opinion but please, play using the Bladedancer subclass before trying to justify why it's OP. Once you do that, then you'll be able to accurately suggest a fix.

    • The funny thing is if your playing with good players arc blade won't do anything but get you killed it's the worst super in the game for everything it's just a noob stomping class i don't know why scrubs want the worst super in the game nerfed it's like your asking auto rifles to be nerfed

    • Tldr: hunters are annoying when I don't have my panic super ready to end their blade dance. You sir are a tool. Warlocks and titans die during a super animation=they still have it. Hunters die during activation=super gone. Nova panic and fist of panic=everyone dead nearby. Hunters golden gun can miss in unskilled hands. Blade dancer with the wrong perks, used at wrong time or against shotgun users and blade dance ends. Tldr:More Skilled players use hunters. More unskilled players use titans/warlocks.

        OP Stop moaning because you have no skill. Bladedancers are easy to kill you just have shotgun them once and melee, or alternatively you can just run out of the general vicinity and you'll be fine. Only slow people get killed by bladedancers.

      • You should know that titans can live through a gold gun shot when they use there fist of havoc. You should also know the fact that it take one shotgun with one melee to kill a arc blade, unless they. have hunger blade. Blade dancers may seem open but in overall that is Hunters' only ace. Titan and Warlocks have better traits and power. One shot melee? Instant regeneration of health or extra shields? Able to withstand headshot of a sniper or point blank shotgun to face while using their super. You are so focused on one super, when you totally forgot to see the whole picture. Also supers are not the only ways to get kills. People have exotic weapons or crazy skills that make them have 2.5 - 3.0 K/D per match. I am a hunter who fought other blade dancers, and it wasn't so hard. If you have blink, just time it right to escape. You can lead him to an open area where you have a chance of killing him before he even get near you. Go around a pillar to and make him chase you until he/she runs out of time. That happened to me, expect the fact I barely managed to kill him. If people aren't so focus on the attack of one subclass of an underpowered class, maybe people could see the realize the damm truth and see how easy it is to kill.

      • In regards to your statement on other supers stopping arc blade and only getting 1 kill. If you think arc blade is so op and wipes out whole teams. Wouldn't it be well worth it to get that one kill to prevent what you believe will wipe your whole team?

        So far Hunters have had 2 direct attack supers while Titans and Warlocks have had 1 attack and 1 support. With TTK, Titans and Warlocks get a ridiculously great attack super. Do you think, in your opinion, that these 2 new subclasses will balance things out?

        • I like this. Few others as well though: 1) reduce radiance time. Warlocks have ohko melee twice and can throw wayy too many grenades that can kill around corners as well as have 50% dmg reduction for too long. 2) smaller blast radius on nova bomb with the 3 split, shit covers wayyy too much area. 3) fist of havoc has considerably less vertical reach, its a smash not a bomb. 4) ward of dawn has reduced time when on objectives and heavy ammo and armor of light is too strong. 5) death when activating a super results in loss of super. Tired of killing titans mid super just to have them shit on me with it again. Hunters dont remotely get to keep theirs no one else should. 6) golden gun should have sniper class hip fire and 20% damage reduction. 7) blade dancer should have 45% damage reduction. Last one 8) radiance, foh, and nb should have a 4 kill limit. There, thats your balance. #pettypeople #pettyproblems

          • Another option is to increase the additional burn rate taken from the bar on an attack. Many bladedancers just spam the attack button which covers a lot of ground but decreases the time the bar burns. If you have to pace attacks a little more it's not as bad.

          • I can shotgun an arc blade to death if I catch him early enough. I can't do damage to first of havoc or nova bomb. Golden gun and radiance need a slight buff to armor or a health regen perk. (Although flame shield is pretty clutch if you can get a hand on someone before dying lol). Anyway my point is kill able supers last a while. The one shotters like nova and fist are instant but make you immortal. It's all decently balancd

            • Blink combined with a grenade like arcbolt is the reason for the differential in k/ds between characters. If the sunsinger warlock had blink. Wow. Imagine striker titan with blink. It's about movement around the map. Not a super u get to use a couple times a game
