Deej, shed some light over here.

@DeeJ You've seen a countless amount of these threads, I get it. You are definitely doing your best to communicate with us, but we need you and the rest of Bungie to come down to our level and let us know some things and answer some questions caused by the recent information leaks. Before I get started I would like to say thank you to you and Bungie for delivering a beautiful game. It's extremely polished and the gameplay mechanics are unbelievably fun. The Vault of Glass is absolutely genius and the most fun I have had in a video game in years. I don't care about matchmaking for it, as it should be intended to make players want to gather a solid team and work together for a long amount of time, matchmaking for it wouldn't be ideal at all. Moving on. You've called the poster on Reddit's AMA a "troll". I'm sorry, but the community doesn't believe that. Looking at the first ViDoc for Destiny, the information from the supposed tester and the answers from 404 Architect, we can only logically come to the conclusion that some, if not all the things said were in fact true. I don't care about DLC information, or the "placeholders" showing up over last weekend like some of us here, as I can't wait to do them and will be purchasing them as soon as possible. I do however care about what has obviously been gutted from story-related missions and the campaign itself. First of all, after reading everything that has come to light involving the missing or cut content, it seems to be a hilarious slap in the face that the Stranger tells us that "I don't even have time to explain why I don't have time to explain", or that the Speaker tells us something along the lines of "I'm sure you have many questions, but we need you on the battlefield." My biggest problem has to do with the Factions. Why are they even there in the first place? Supposedly they originally were intended to have their own side quests or story lines that either did or didn't have anything to do with the story. If that portion was cut, why are they even there at all? And if the plan is to expand on them during DLC, again why have them in the game at launch? Why is it that we are given little-to-no explanation as to what is actually going on in the story? Admittedly, I'm not the type to buy a video game for it's story, but you guys advertised this as a space epic/opera with MMO elements and that is what sold me. So, why have you decided to leave us with about three and a half cutscenes that leave us to try and make our own assumptions as to what is going on? Where is this "Crow" character that was obviously planned to be a main character in this campaign, as not only evidenced by the "tester", but in your ViDoc as well? If you scrapped him for the Stranger, then what was our character's motivations to believe her? Or what does the Speaker think of her and her group that we have not seen? She speaks of different sides, and she does not have a Ghost, but in the end it seems that her and the Speaker have similar goals? And if that is the case, then why are they never seen together and why does the Stranger feel the need to stay at a distance from you in the beginning of the game? Alright, I'll believe that you may be planning on expanding on this aspect of the story later in the game, but things don't add up as they are now. Little things stick out, things as simple as your Awoken character having no idea who the Awoken are or what they've been through, to details like your ghost telling you that it was going to report to the Speaker about the things the FWC are having you collect. Why is it that in the beginning of the game we have environmental hazards like trip mines and enemies crawling on the walls but nothing like that is ever seen again? There is literally almost no difference in playing a strike and playing a Firefight on Halo: ODST. Where is the creativity in the later battles? Or any creativity or diversity in the daily bounties? It seems rushed, if it was, then say so. I think I speak for the community when I say that if things were intended to be different; then just say it. Let us know if the great team at Bungie are planning on rectifying story elements or if this is what we get. Voice chat in matchmaking, proximity chat for the tower or on the planets and smaller things like that are no problem, we know that you can take care of these issues with minor patches and updates, but the damage to all of the story and side story elements has been done. If nothing is true within these recent leaks, you have to know that the seed of curiosity has already been planted in even your most loyal players. It needs to be addressed and not written off as a simple troll. I also want to know if you ever plan on implementing anything to do with these clans we have been creating. Are you planning on adding a playlist specifically for clans? If not, then are you ever going to think about letting us have a customizable lobby so that we can set up our own clan battles? And if not that, then again I ask why give us these features outside of knocking out a couple of achievements? You're renown for what you did with this type of gaming in Halo, so why get rid of what you did incredibly right? Finally, I'll end with saying that you at Bungie have created a hell of a prologue to what could have been, or could be, a masterpiece of a game. It's just obvious that what you originally intended isn't what we are playing. There are too many inconsistencies and too much evidence to believe everything that has come to light in the recent days is simply fabricated. Let us know what is going on, and if, when and how you all plan to move forward. Thank you to all that read through this enormous post, I am aware that some people may have harsh words for me appearing as a whiner, but in my defense I will say that I have not had a single issue with the game until this bomb of information was dropped on us over the past weekend. It's a great game, I love playing it with my friends and it has entertained me for countless hours, I just believe that this great game could have been absolutely incredible. I still have hope that it can be. Sincerely, A loyal Bungie gamer for eight years, Schuyler B. (GT: Scheezy)

    • since kotaku and the marty o'donnell court documents (for all the whiners that cant add 1 an d 1 to make it 2..) its quite obvious that bungie tries to avoid a "harmfull public debate" which is quite BS since the only harmfull debate is the "non debate" .. its quite obvious that bungie screwed up big time and now suffers that the entire engine cant handle nearly enough content to support the 10 year claim. they still try to fix the engine as they go and still have not a single handle on it.. see the kotake article.. 8 hours loading time for a simple change in the game ? that doesnt cut it ...

    • The lack and/or withholding of information gives rise to conspiracy theories. Deej may have addressed the issue of leakers, but he did nothing more than acknowledge it was there and told us to look the other way without so much as an explanation. If Bungie wants us to trust them with this, there needs to be more information, more answer. The company admits that Halo 2 was a disaster, but refuses to acknowledge any wrong doing with Destiny. Bungie earned our trust, but it is being squandered. Voice your concern, #wewantanswers

    • Amen....yeah bungie just tell us the truth. Will these things be fleshed out in the future (sparrow racing, faction wars, faction storylines gambling, Trading etc.} ...or are we stuck with an extremely well built but INCOMPLETE. game. P.S. I stopped playing destiny because its so blatantly patched together content wise. Tbh, it breaks my heart to see whats happened to Destiny. I just want to know if that original vision will manifest itself...funny thing is Ive never played the halo games, and Ive recently read Halo: the fall of reach, IM TOTALLY HOOKED ON THE STORY! Im on my 4th halo book now and can't wait for the Halo MCC. Oh Destiny... what you couldve been :(

      • I feel like Bungie's in a tight spot right now. If they choose to say nothing, people like 404Architect, whether troll or not, will gain followers and believers. Why will this happen? Because we have no reason to not believe them, especially when what they say lines up perfectly with what we can see missing in game. If they choose to say something addressing the lack of story and cut content, they incriminate themselves and people demand free content or they just say that the others are lying and no one believes them. Personally, I'm believing the 404Architect guy. Information just makes too much sense. Someone from Bungie needs to explain things. Give us the information about what went down. Tell us how you're going to fix it. You made a giant mistake Bungie. You sold us a $35 expansion pass. That expansion pass was nothing more than $40 credit toward our Xbox/PSN accounts. We don't have to buy your DLC with that. We can use it for whatever we desire. Your voice will determine whether I use it on Borderlands Pre Sequel season pass or save it for you. If you say nothing, I already have my answer.

        • Deej, and the rest of the so-called "Bungie Community Team" must have the easiest jobs in the world. They Completely Ignore 99.99% of concerned players questions. Once a week post a patronizing and obtuse post that pats us on the head for our inquiries. Bungie seems like a pale shadow of its former self. They are more interested in ignoring and insulting their fans, and hoping we'll just shut up & continue to fork over our $ without question.

          • Some really quick to add additional gameplay to keep me busy while I wait for content to be released please bungie. I would like to collect shaders, ships, emblems, exotic weapons and class marks could you add some sort of book system that shows us which we have unlocked and a silhouette with a padlock on which we have not unlocked I wanna collect them all thanks bungie, I have many other ideas in mind from things I have enjoyed so far and would like to see more of. Another small thing would be a map of each area we can view when we patrol and a few more higher level mob zones on each planet in the patrol method to explore and a weekly hidden chest on every planet with epic loot cheers Also some answers on architect404 troll habbits would be nice Regards a gamer since combat evolved

          • The core game would still be the same. We'd still be play crucible, running the same strikes, doing patrols and doing raids. Maybe they needed a story that COULD be endless. If there were more politics, they prolly couldn't add to the story anymore. Just a thought, dudes. I am also very satisfied with the gameplay.

          • Bungie Weekly Update - 10/03/2014
Menty I would like the rumors to be addressed about… Let me stop you right there, if I may. We’ve seen a lot of theories about Bungie on the Internet this week. I understand why that stuff is compelling. The drama of the rumor mill is a symptom of a greater issue: We all want Destiny to be better. The problem is that sifting through gossip in search of truth doesn’t bring us any closer to a stronger game. The launch of Destiny changed things for me at Bungie. Ever since you became a community, instead of an audience waiting for a game, I’ve been invited into a room where a dedicated team is talking exclusively about the next updates for Destiny. Through me, you have a seat at their table. I’d rather spend the precious time we have together coming up with ideas for how the game can better support us as a community. I’d rather we look toward the next update. There may come a time when we take a probing look back at the challenges we faced during the development of Destiny, but those won’t be my stories to tell. You have me to kick around, Guardians, but know that I’m focused on our future together.
