It's not entitlement, many of us have played multiple games(such as mmorpgs) where the game has been done correctly and the game has done poorly. Destiny is not an mmorpg, it doesn't have the characteristics of an mmorpg. Factors like an auction house, having more than 5 active bounties at a time, chat, trading, and many more factors, such as an actual story, instead of an ambiguous one. Entitlement is an excuse created by the gaming articles and gaming companies to blame the player for not appreciating their own opinion or way the game should be played in their own minds. I do like Destiny, but this is not an mmorpg, and with the leaks of the original story and arguments with Bungie staff, I'm not surprised the game is not being well received. A lot of issues need to be addressed, and once corrected, Destiny may have a chance. Until that time comes , you will continue to see more leak posts and players complaining about gaming mechanics.

How many of those leaks are confirmed? None. You can argue its not an rpg etc... but REAL gamers know it was supposed to be...How? Here's a hint.... loot system, skill trees, and they mentioned wanting a 10 year lifespan... Other than an rpg, no other game would have that lifespan. An auction house doesnt make an rpg, it has a story (it didnt conclude, because it's on going), and bounties have nothing to do with being an rpg.

This 10 year platform BS is confusing; I keep hearing people mention it, right alongside "Destiny 2 & 3"... So is it a 10 year game or is it a 3.33 year game with two sequels forthcoming? Does anybody [i]really[/i] know,or are there just a bunch of blowhards acting like they know? Because World of Warcraft has been going for about 10 years, and there has only ever been ONE WoW plus expansions. There has never been a World of Warcraft 2. The "real" gamer thing: also BS. That label has no weight. Trying to pin down what constitutes a "gamer" as opposed to a non-gamer is going to be like trying to pin down what makes someone a "hipster." If you go around trying to categorize people, you're only going to alienate potential friends and make yourself look like an idiot.

Blah blah blah "sterotyping is bad". Thats a philosophical debate... Speaking as a social researcher... it happens. Certain sterotyping is bad, however, it is also an innate trait....and is legitimate in some ways.

It's not about stereotyping, it's about social prejudices. If you want to identify with "real gamers" then you're only going to agree or be agreed with by people who have the same value set as yourself; meanwhile another group of "real gamers" is sitting in a corner blowing you off because you're too busy labeling people and not playing games. As all of that's happening, the people getting paid for playing video games because their streams are raking in ad money are laughing at the "real gamers" who think they're big shots. I play tabletop games, handhelds, PC games, AND console games, but only a little bit of each because I'm a broke ass college student. Am I more or less of a gamer than the guy who owns every console system to date but never touches a board game? It's all asinine. We are all gamers. Games should bring us together.
