DLC, all of the story will be delivered through DLC. Characters will be added. The level cap increased. And more areas and planets in DLC. Bungie has stated several times that the game isn't over. They have also plainly stated that the DLC will fill in holes in the story. Meaning you have to check of all of these "Chapters" before you can get the whole story. It's going to be a 10 year game. Just give it more than a month and stop crying because you can't use context clues.
PS. Not intended for the OP necessarily. I'm just tired of seeing so many people reaching for something that has already been explained dozens of times.

thats just the point "DLC will fill in the holes in the story" is wrong. I should not have to pay extra to know how the story finishes. DLC is extra content. stop blindly defending this game, read the post with an open mind

The story is going to be massive, it will have way more characters and plot twists. And about the open mind, maybe you could do the same. The game has been out a month. Give it a chance, before you start saying it's trash.

I think being a level 28 titan and playing over 30+ hours counts as giving it a chance. never said it was trash, my only gripe is with the story

Still give us the game that's already on the disk and add more as DLC as we go... Don't give us a beta with 4 planets not cool. When bungie was with halo they were good I knew them going with sony would turn to complete shit.

A 10 year game that won't make it through 2015..... With all the new actual FULL games being released I don't see their "10 year " plan surviving everyone quitting after the DLC only contains 6 new story missions 1 new raid and 2 new strikes... But hey its not like they took my 100$ and gave me a game that took a week to hit 27 less than 6 hours to beat the story and only the same shit to do repeatedly..... It's not an MMORPG because it doesn't truly immerse you into the story, its not a good online shooter because theirs no ranking system online and only 4 game types.... I compare this game to defiance which released with enough content to last well over a few months. Say its a "10 year" game is just bungie's way of justifying their half assed game.

Sure it will... and Saturn will be in the game at launch! The only thing I know for certain is that Battlefield hardline looks awesome :P
