I went ahead and upgraded to 28 without raid gear, 1 more upgrade to 29. I figured I could use the extra armor rating and I can be more effective in the weekly nightfall strike. Plus there is no guarantee of raid armor dropping, so I figured I would make myself as strong as possible with what I have right now. Once I get my 1st raid armor I will focus on that. Until then I realize I'm burning shards, but I suppose I'll just have to earn them back.

I did enough upgrades to ding just enough for 28, I managed to get nightfall and VoG done with 27's and a few more 28's for the raid. We all know how hard it is to get shards so I think I'm just going to wait for the raid gear :/ even though its extremely tempting!
